Barbara was my little sister. She was so much more than those words can describe. I admired her. I envied her. I respected her. And, I loved her.
From the first day I remember my parents bringing her home from the hospital, I felt the special bond that a brother and sister share. Through the years although we have been separated by geography and time, I have always felt close to Barbara. I could call her and talk about problems or just to say “Hi. How are you doing?”
I admired Barb’s strength and composure. She always had an opinion and let you know it. Maybe we didn’t always agree, but we did always disagree respectfully. I valued her insight and compassion.
I envied her. She seemed to know the right thing to do at all times even when under stress. She showed us all that special strength during her last days. She set her path and she never looked back.
I respected her. She was intelligent, beautiful, and always took care of her family. What better things can be said than that?
Lastly, I loved her. She was my little sister, friend, confidant, and, at times, my conscience. I can only hope that my own daughter displays some of the traits that made up my little Sis.
Barbara, good-bye. I will always love and cherish our time together.
Your loving brother, Frank
