Catherine Hoel Obituary
She worked as a tool and die maker at Fisher Body General Motors for thirty years before retiring in 2009. She was a member of UAW Local 292, the Women's Bowling Association and was a life-long Cubs fan.
She is survived by her son, Tony (Michelle) Hoel, Foxfire, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Tristyn Minor and Gabriel, Griffin, and Geoffrey Hoel; and one niece, Jessica Hoel.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Michael Lee Hoel and Lawrence Kent Hoel.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. So sorry to hear of Cathy's passing. We were apprentices together and bowled together. She was a good gal. Always friendly and kind. My prayers to her family.

Though it's been many years since we've spoken, Cathy has never left my mind or my heart. She was one of the kindest souls I've ever known. She would nearly squeeze the breath out of me with every hug. I remember her stack of Jim Croce and U2 CDs in the kitchen, bacon, eggs and biscuits for breakfast, her penchant for computer games (You Don't Know Jack, Solitaire) and handheld Yahtzee. Above all, I remember her passion for her family and friends. She was always so giving of her heart. I have no doubt that continued until her last breath. Rest well, Cathy.
