Candace, my angel.
I can remember the 1st time we met, as children. You were only 6 & as cute as a button. We knew each other, because we only lived 2 blocks away. It was, however in our adolescent stages, that we became close. You were always an interesting person, even as a teenager. I remember when you moved to Queens, NY when you were around 16. Whenever you returned to L.I., everyone looked at you in a different light, because you were really starting to mature. You grew into a young lady that many admired. You were becoming more into fashion, new hair styles, etc. No one could rock an outfit like you could. No one could capture attention like you. Candy, you were so unique.
I grew up an only child, so I looked at you as a younger sister. We would periodically be at odds with each other, but we would quickly move in forgive one another, as best friends would. Candy girl, we had soooo much fun. You were the 1st person, I'd call & even though you were often times sleepy, you still managed to converse w/me. We laughed together, cried together, fussed at one another & forgave each other for various short comings. You were so special. You were so strong. I could literally type my every memory of you, but there's not enought space. I can't believe that you're gone.
I know that you have touched so many people's lives. You were a ppl. person & whomever you encountered, I realize they were captivated by your magnetism.
I want others to know, never take their friends for granted. I made an assumption that you would be here on earth to fight this battle called life, much longer. I know that you are in heaven looking down & I am faithful that you know the hearts of all those who loved you.
I know the challenges that you faced while here on earth...but no more. No more suffering, no more heartache, no more pain. I know that you are in the loving arms of Jesus. You are safely being loved, cared for & protected. Nothing nor no one will ever cause you any discomfort. You are loved forever & ever & ever!!!!!!! When we reunite, girl...it's going to be something else. In your honor I will name my future daughter after your beautiful middle name. I will also dedidate my life, remembering how precious & feisty you were :) I love you Candace Therese Powery. Love eternally, Monica Buchanon

Candy My only hope now is that I will see you again someday. Without you I truly feel empty and alone in this world. You were my best friend and companion for the three short years I knew you. We were there for each other through trying times in both our lives. Had I known your time here was so short I would have cherished those moments with you even more. You may be gone but my love for you will last for an eternity. Good bye my sweety.
