Christopher Tholl Obituary

THOLL, CHRISTOPHER MICHAEL, formerly of DeLand passed away in Asheville, NC on Sunday, November 25, 2007. Christopher was born February 24, 1977 at West Volusia Memorial Hospital in DeLand. He is survived by his parents, Robin Butler, Orlando, and Herman Tholl, DeLeon Springs; his beautiful daughter, Peyton Shea Tholl who was his "Miss Merry Sunshine" and his grandparents, John and Becky Heuerman, DeLand. Also, his brother, Bryan Tholl, DeLand; sister, Devin Tholl, Englewood; step-siblings, Jessica Gleason Leonard, DeLand and Gabriel Gleason, Tennessee. His aunt, Rhonda (Whitaker) Schmoyer and her family in Deltona; uncle, John Whitaker, New York; aunt, Karen (Tholl) Samper, DeLand; Kaitlyn and Marshall Razza, stepchildren of his father, Herman; many cousins, great aunts, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman and Nancy Tholl, DeLand, and Bob "Batman" Whitaker, Holly Hill. Christopher attended DeLand High School and graduated from DBCC May 1994. He moved to Asheville, NC in January 2001 to participate as an Apprentice in a timber-framing program through Goshen Timber Frames, a craft he quickly mastered and grew to love. Christopher loved music of all kinds, a trait he shared with his mother and passed on to his daughter. He loved to read and was a writer of poetry. He loved the mountains, his family and friends, but more than anything, his "Miss Merry Sunshine", Peyton. "I loved my Dad very much and I would have never wanted anything like this to happen". Christopher will be missed by many. Arrangements are under the care and trust of Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, Orlando, FL. The family will share a private ceremony commemorating Christopher's short life at his mother's home in Orlando. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made in Trust for Christopher's daughter Peyton Shea Tholl at any local Bank of America. Please view and sign the family guestbook at:

To the family and friends of Chrisopher Tholl...

I share your grief and send you this prayer:
That your faith should not rest on the wisdom of man. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For the kingdom of God does not consist in words, but in power. Light shines out of darkness and God is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the light of knowledge of the glory of God in our hearts. Peace be with you. Rest in peace Chris, Gregg, Brie, John Kent, my dad and others.
When I dance in the moonlite I know that you are there taking care of each other and us. Twinkle in the stars. SK Casey's Mom :)

Chris, it has still not completely sunk in.. When I don't get to see you over CHristmas.. maybe it will.. Your daughter has grown so beautiful and strong, as a part of you and Amber. Amber, Robin, I am so sorry for your loss.. I hope things come together for Peyton's sake. And for Tholl's memory and wishes. All My Love Tholl..

Dear Robin, Peyton, John & Becky, and family,

It is difficult to find the right words to say or to even know if they are the correct words to write at a moment such as this. I am so saddened by this news and I send to your family all of the love in the world to embrace you through this unfortunate moment and my prayers are with you throughout the duration.
Chris was my first love and very close friend who I had hoped to have in my life forever. He was such a smart and poetic man; he had such a magnificent and creative mind indeed! His childlike free-spiritedness and ability to play like a kid as an adult… he taught me that I was way too serious at times and needed to loosen up and have fun. His poetry inspired me in numerous ways and the inspiration has played out in many facets of my life today. His love for nature and humanity was more genuine than anyone I know- and while he could joke around with the best of them he never meant to hurt as his sincerity was true. Christopher was such a beautiful man who will be deeply missed and loved forever in my heart.

Dear Peyton,
You were always the first portion of your dad and my conversations over the years (sometimes the whole conversation) as he was always full of joy and so proud when he spoke of you. Just as your mom wrote before, you will always be daddy's little girl ;) All my love and prayers to you through all of this.

Robin and Family, I was so sorry to hear of Chris' passing. It has been many years since our families have been in touch. We were neighbors when you lived in Orange City on Gleason St. I remember Chris, Gabe and I playing ball in the street with all the other kids when we were younger. Those were good times. Fondest of memories. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. God bless you.
