Daniel Lucey Obituary

Daniel L Lucey (1932-2023) Beloved husband, father, and grandfather died on March 14 leaving a family grieving his presence yet sharing so many joyful memories. He will be sorely missed by his wife of 70 years, Rita, his children Dr. Daniel R., David C. (Edna) Elizabeth Lucey Hearld. He was an ever-present source of strength for his son, Timothy, who predeceased him. His loving kindness extended to his 6 grand children Jennifer Hernandez (Brandy), Jessica Johnson(Aaron), Dannielle Starr( Justin), Rebecca Austin (Matt), Alexander and Abraham Lucey. The delight in his 6 great grandchildren and their delight in his presence warmed our hearts.

Dan was the brother of John Lucey of Sewickly, Pa., who pre deceased him along with parents John and Cecilia DeTemple Lucey of Pittsburgh's Hiawatha St. Many nieces and nephews were an integral part of his life as grateful recipients of his generous hospitality and gentle wisdom.

Dan retired from the Air Force in 1973 after 20 years of service. Self-employed for some twenty years before another retirement and travels throughout the world. Best of all were the "See the USA" trips with the grands in an RV each summer.

Sending love to Aunt Rita and all the Lucey cousins. Uncle Dan was such a special man, so kind to all of us. You both so generously opened your home to our parents and many of us on Florida visits. I'm going to miss his smile.
