Earl Larison Obituary

LARISON, EARL, 75, of St. Cloud, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2005. He was born to Green and Dolly Larison on August 10, 1929 in Clay County, KY. He graduated from Dixon-Israel High School in Ohio and at nineteen boxed in the Golden Gloves Competition. He then attended Earlham College in Richmond, IN, with History being his major. He went to become a draftsman and designed school buses for Divco Wayne Works of Richmond, Indiana. He was a Boy Scout Leader in Fairhaven, OH. He was a member of the Blue Lodge in Camden, OH and also in the York Rites of Eaton, OH. He moved to Florida in 1971 and completed the Scottish Rites in St. Cloud. He also became a Shriner at the Bahia Temple in Orlando, on May 1, 1979. He was employed at the City of St. Cloud in 1972 and went on to supervise numerous departments. One of his first jobs was to build the cement picnic tables that still stand at the St. Cloud lakefront. He helped to build the old City Hall, the barracks of the Fire Dept. And the Police Dept. He was also a St. Cloud Reserve Police Officer until he purchased Red's Fish Camp in the mid seventies. He continued his employment with the City of St. Cloud until his retirement in 1986. As owner of Red's Fish Camp he enjoyed Bass fishing and caught several trophy winners. He was known for his collection of ten pounds and over Trophy Bass, they were donated by numerous friends and campers. He operated Red's Fish Camp for thirty years and enjoyed the relationships he had with all the people who lived there. He was preceded in death by his son Alan Earl Larison and is survived by his wife of 54 years, Evelyn; his daughters, Teresa (Billy) Hahn and Patricia Slaughter, both of St. Cloud; sisters, Juanita Pindras of Morton Grove, Illinois and Mary (Gene) Ballinger of Eaton, Ohio; he has four grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends. He was a Methodist. He enjoyed playing the part of James in the Last Supper Portrayals for the First United Methodist Church in St. Cloud. The Reverend Alexis Talbott will be officiating at the Osceola Memory Gardens Chapel in St. Cloud on Monday, January 17, 2005 at 2PM. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 16th from 2-4PM and 6-8PM.
