Bowman, Edward Merritt Island, FL - Edward Louis Bowman (Ed), 85, passed away at Cape Canaveral Hospital surrounded by loved ones on March 19, 2016. Ed was born on October 4, 1930 in Millville, New Jersey. Ed was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and was lovingly referred to as "Pop". He was the beloved patriarch of his family and was humble, loyal, loving and hilarious. And, he was a hugger; Pop often said "we don't shake hands in this family, we hug." His hobbies included spending time with family, fishing, traveling and dancing. He had a Master's Degree in Engineering and worked for Boeing and McDonnell Douglas, while working with NASA. Ed is survived by his cherished companion Shirley Biegas; sister, Charlotte (Ted) Kushner; daughter, Susan Carlson; daughter-in-law, Joanne Bowman; granddaughter, Niki (Kyle) Kaylor; granddaughter, Jennifer (Shawn) Boettlin; grandson, Michael (Kim) Bowman; grandson, Glenn (Julie) Bowman; granddaughter, Michelle (James) Bania; granddaughter, BJ (Pat) Genovesi; grandson, Matthew Carlson; granddaughter, Desiree (Jeremy) Vincent; grandson, Alex Carlson; and 17 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marian; son, Glenn; parents, Florence and Charles; and 11 siblings.
