IN Aldridge-Benge Obituary

Thirty-four years ago on February 24th, 1989, Engineer Todd Aldridge and Firefighter/Paramedic Mark Benge gave the ultimate sacrifice for the citizens of Central Florida when they lost their young lives, in the line of duty, battling a multiple alarm fire. Todd and Mark, you are sadly missed by your families, our local, and the fire department families you left behind.

They are gone but not forgotten.

I was on the scene the day of this tragic event. I was an LEO who had a very close friend fighting that fire and it was several hours before I could confirm that he was NOT one of the fire fighters who had fallen. Forever in my memory.

I knew Todd as I worked with his brother Mike an Orlando Police officer. A family dedicated to public service, to watching out for their fellow citizens. I mourn the loss of these fine firefighters, and I mourn Mike who has since joined them.
