Jesse Ellis Obituary

ELLIS, JESSE E., 76, of Umatilla, FL passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2008, in Tavares, FL. Born in Anderson County, TN he moved to the area in 1962 and has lived in Umatilla for 32 years. Mr. Ellis retired from Waterman Memorial Hospital after 35 years of service as a radiological technician. He was a Baptist and an US Air Force veteran. He was also a member of the American Poultry Association, American Bantam Association, Sebright Club of America and the Old English Game Bantam Club of America. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years: Phyllis Ellis, Umatilla, FL; children: Doris Brinkman, Tavares, FL, Pamela Whitford, Eustis, FL, Barbara Bradley, Leesburg, FL, Eddie Ellis, Longwood, FL and Elaine Silbernagel, Leesburg, FL; brother: John Ellis, CA; sisters: Ruth Martin and Ruby Williams, both of TN; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 10AM, Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Umatilla with Reverend Skip Haymans and Chaplain Angelo Cruz-Sein officiating. Interment will follow at Umatilla Cemetery Annex. A visitation will be held Sunday from 2-4PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Lake/Sumter, 12300 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778. BEYERS FUNERAL HOME, Umatilla.

Jesse will be missed. Never forget the great times we had on the lake and probably still would be trying to learn to water ski had it not been for Jesse. Jesse and Ann half been very good to my family and their door was always open for us. I will keep the family in my prayers and Jesse will be missed. Love him as a person and whay he stood for.

Dear Miss Phyllis Ann......My heart, sympathy and prayers are will you all at the loss of Mr. Ellis! You all are the epitome of what a family shoud be and you all lived it.....I always loved him coming into the office and talking with him....he loved you all so dearly...(always kidding, because we had the same name.....Eustis has lost a true hero....it was an honor knowing him! My prayers are with you, Doris, Pam , Barbara and other family members. He has left his legacy and we should all be proud! A real gentleman and a fantastic role model.
