To Joel's Family:
My daughter, Marcia, called me and told me about Joel's passing. I am truly saddened to hear this. Joel was less than one year younger than our youngest son, Fritz. We were neighbors in their young years when they played together with Tim Fisher, Marcia and Leonard Jr. (Bubba);riding motorcycles, playing ball, etc. They were all very close.
It really touches our hearts when one in the prime of their life leaves us. We will long remember Joel and the great times they all had together. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To Joel's family:
My husband, Greg, and I worked with Joel for many years in Maintenance at SeaWorld and was extremly sadden and shocked by the news of his passing. It had been several years since we talked last, but to this day still brought up Joel's name in conversations about the good ol' days and the great times we had at SeaWorld. He will be greatly missed by his SeaWorld family.

To Joel's family:
I happened to run across Joel's obituary this evening and was both shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. It has been at least 30+ years since I last saw Joel...back when we were all just a bunch of neighborhood kids. My 2 brothers, Leonard Jr. (Bubba) and Fritz Fetner and I lived just a few houses down from Joel and his family, on Oglethorpe Rd. We all used to hang out together - way back in the 1970's. Joel, Bubba, Fritz, Tim and I used run around together and hang at the park (Grove Park). I remember that my brothers knew David Nevins real well. Again, our most heartfelt sympathies to Joel's future wife and family. May God comfort you all during this sad and difficult time. In sincerest sympathy, Marcia Fetner-Christy, Leonard (Bubba)Fetner, Jr. and Fritz Fetner
