John Kittinger Obituary

Kittinger, John Jack85, Orlando, FL, passed away on January 5, 2016, after a brief illness. Jack was born on April 23, 1930 in Orlando, FL to Joseph and Ida Mae Kittinger. A lifetime resident of Orlando, Jack married his high school sweetheart, Alice Jean Lane in 1952, who preceded him in death in 1986. He worked several years for his father at Florida Business Machines in downtown Orlando, then moved onto a successful career with the Olivetti Corporation as a District Manager. Jack was an avid sports fan, demonstrated by his love of the Florida State Seminoles, Orlando Magic, fishing on his fully-equipped bass boat, car rallying with the Sports Car Club of America, and serving as the Chief Starter for the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring Stock Car races. He also contributed many hours in support and service to the Boy Scouts of America, the Downtown Orlando Kiwanis Club, and the Executive Association of Greater Orlando. From the late 70s, up until his death, Jack was totally committed to serving the Bahia Shriners. He served in many important positions throughout the years, including Past President of the Royal Order of the Jesters, Past president of the Director's Unit in the Shrine and as Potentate in 1991 - "Having Fun in '91". Jack was always trusted to do any job and did it well. Survivors include daughters, Jeannie K. Bean (Cliff), Linda K. Jones, Kathy K. Blake (David); grandchildren, Justin and Kendall Bean, Jason and Lindsay Jones, Christopher Blake and Alexandria Blake Shuman; brother, Joseph W. Jack was always a nice, kind, fun loving person. Lived around the corner from me and we grew up together from about 12 yrs. old.

Sorry to hear about Jack's passing, he loved and appreciated his family above all else.
I, like many others, will always have so many fond memories of times spent with Jack. He and his family were neighbors and in my eyes Jack, twenty years my senior, was a superstar. He took me and my brother racing a couple of times a year, with his passes we stood next to and conversed with the racing elite, Enzio Ferrari, Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, Mario Andretti and many more. But Jack was more special than all of them. He was kind and entertaining and always good to his word. He was a great role model to a young teenager of how to act and still have fun.
I was most fortunate to know him and as were so many others that he routinely gave so much of his time to. As, i'm sure, his family already knows, there are few men like him.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Joe and Jack lived around the corner from me & we grew up together. After marrying, we lost contact. He was such a good man and will be missed.

Linda & Family,
No words can ease the pain in your heart. When a parent dies, you never quite get over it. You just slowly learn how to go on without them. Your Dad will always remain a loving memory in your heart.
God Be With you and your family through these coming days.
Sympathy.
