John Rowland Obituary

ROWLAND, JOHN V., age 63, of Oviedo, went home to be with Our Father on Good Friday, April 14, 2006, at Florida Hospital East on Lake Underhill in Orlando, after receiving the utmost awesome care. John was born July 2, 1942, in Rochester, NY, to the late Robert and Elizabeth (MacDougal) Rowland. John was a very proud veteran of the U.S. Army, and served in Vietnam in 1965 and 1966. John was a licensed Funeral Director for Miller Funeral Homes, Inc., for 31 years. After retiring, he came to Florida and was an investigator for Jacobs & Goodman, for several years. In 1998, he and his wife became managers of Alafaya Self Storage in Oviedo, Michigan Ave. Self Storage in Kissimmee; then back to Alafaya Self Storage recently. John is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Pamela, daughter Michele (Kevin) Sweat, and son John, all of Oviedo; three grandchildren, Miranda and Mason Betterley of Oviedo, Cole Rowland, of Wayland, NY; sister-in-law, Judy (Justin) Randall, Gail (Vern) Heale, Linda (Bob) Barrows, brother-in-law, James (Patty) Stevenson, all of upstate NY; one uncle, William (Jean) Rowland, Livonia, NY; several nieces and nephews and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held at the American Legion Post 10 on Lakeshore Drive, Kissimmee on Sunday, April 23, 2006 at 12 noon, lunch following.
