I'd like to say a few words about a friend of mine, his name is Kevin Hammock. Kevin loved people and loved life. He had the heart of a giant and that rare ability to make everyone whom he was around feel special. Kevin is one of the Great persons whom I have had the privilege of sharing part of my life life with. Kevin and I were fraternity brothers and brothers in spirit as we grew to know each other and then live together. I always admired and appreciated sharing in Kevin's intelligence, wit and compassion. I loved Kevin Hammock. Kevin was, and will always be a STAR in my eyes. He was a model we all should aspire to. I will sorely miss one of the great friends of my life. If you knew Kevin, however, you already know what I'm feebly trying to say, in comparison to the reality of who Kevin was, is insufficient. All I can do is point to the moon. Vaya con Dios my dear friend. Vaya con Dios.

Last time I saw Kevin was about 12 years ago. He gave me a big hug and we talked about old times in high school. My prayers are with your family Kevin. The lord blessed us with your life. Peace be with you my brother.

Just read about Kevin in the Golf Inc magazine... although I have not spoken to Kevin in many years I remember Kevin from his Camelback days. I worked for Gene at Mountain Shadows and he for Roger at Camelback... we shared many laughs about the pros we worked for whenever our paths would cross... Kevin was always a great guy to be around, friendly and honest... he will be missed.

This is a bit delayed, but I just recently learned of Kevin's passing, and after a couple of weeks of reflecting, wanted to make sure that people had another example of Kevin's kindness. I had the pleasure of working with Kevin, with Marriott Golf, and developed a friendship with him during that time. I had known him for a few years at the time, and he had left Camelback, to work for Desert Mountain, which at the time, had barely broken ground. At that point of my career, I was pursuing membership in the PGA, and the Player Ability Test, was one of the hurdles that needed to be crossed, to move forward in the process. I was frustrated, because I had attempted it a few times, and not succeeded. Kevin knew of this, and offered to accompany me on the next one. Mind you, this is in the summertime, in Arizona. To make a long story short, he spent the entire day (36 holes), in the hot sun, doing his best to get me through it. I know that it doesn't mean much to anyone else, but I hope that this gives anyone reading it, some comfort, in remembering how good of a guy he was. Anyone else who knew him at Camelback, can probably vividly remember his "Jack Hando" story. It was classic. I was very saddened to hear that he had left us....but will always remember him for his humor, intelligence, and loyal friendship. His family can be very proud of him.

Dear Hammock Family,
I am saddened to learn of Kevin's passing. We met as pledge brothers in the Spring '82 class of Phi Delta Theta. Kevin was an amazing guy. I really enjoyed his infectious enthusiasm for anything endeavored by him. He had a real zest for life. My prayers are with his children and family. Having experienced my own brother's sudden death on December 08, just days before Kevin's passing, I have a great deal of understanding what you are going through. Although no words can bring you comfort, it may be helpful to reflect on Kevin's faith in our Lord and know that he seated next to him. God Bless All Of You and continued prayers for each of you. My husband and I met Kevin when he arrived to work at Marriott's Seaview Resort in Absecon, NJ in 1989. I remember Kevin having so much energy and bringing his enthusiasm to the golf shop. I was the administrative assistant for the golf department. He would always rifle through my in box and pull his correspondence and move it to the top. He was always on the move and kept all the younger guys on their toes! Kevin, Susan, my husband Kevin and I only worked together for six months but we became fast friends. We all enjoyed hanging out together, playing golf, meeting at the 19th hole and working hard. Susan and Kevin also hosted an ornament shower for my husband and I in December of 1989. ( We were to be married that month) It was a really fun night. Everyone brought us signed ornaments to start our own collection with. It always brings us fond memories of Kevin and Susan when we bring them out each year. I am especially sad to know that Kevin has left us so soon. He was a special person and we are so grateful to have known him. Sending our love and prayers to all of the Hammock family. We are keeping you in our thoughts as you go through this most difficult time.

Kevin was like a brother to me. He was kind, considerate and caring with a great sense of humor and strong faith. My prayers are with the Hammock Family. At this time we all mourn, but let us not forget to rejoice because Kevin has joined his older brother Phil in heaven. It was an honor knowing him.

I was so sad when I heard about Kevin. We met in grade school when he and his family moved in down the street. We were friends throughout high school and college. We played countless rounds of golf together growing up. He was a complicated guy. He was very competitive and determined. He was super smart and super athletic. He was pretty much good at whatever he did. Of course, we were kids when his brother Phil was killed in an automobile accident. It effected him greatly and he carried that burden with him. After school we lost track but I would get updates on Kevin occasionally from his father. I have thought of him often and missed the friendship we had in our formative years. I am very sorry for the loss his family must be feeling. My memories are of Kevin in his youth and they are all good.

I recall the laughs we all had on the drive I shared with Susan, Kevin and another Sue as we drove to a wedding in NC. That was a great road trip ; Kevin knew how to handle that car on those winding roads. Susan's knuckles were a bit white!

God Bless the Hammock Family. This silly fun loving gentleman Kevin Hammock entered my life on January 2011. Kevin and I were in a relationship that some people can only dream of. We loved doing so many things together, and were best friends as well as boyfriend and girlfriend and had plans for the future. We hardly ever argued and loved each other completely. Nothing can replace the time we had. We talked about absolutely everything and were completely honest but loving with each other. Kevin had his health challenges the day I met him but I had faith his health would turn around. I remained positive for as long as I could. Then before I knew it his health was deteriorating before my eyes. It tore my heart apart to watch a man so full of life slowly lose his health. He is now relieved and God will welcome him home. May Kevin rest in peace.. Kevin was the most amazing man I had the privilege of knowing. I thank God everyday for his presence in my life and for his love. He loved me until I was able to love myself.

My best to all the family at this difficult time. I was so saddened when I heard of Kevin's passing last night. Kevin was such an inspirational Pop Warner Coach. He was kind and provided such positive encouragement to the kids in this highly competitive sport. Chris and our entire family are so grateful to have known Kevin and his wonderful spirit. Rest in peace Kevin. Sally Kamrada
