Mavis Courtois Obituary
She was born May 31, 1934, in Hackney, England. Mavis worked as a chemical engineer before retiring; she came to this area in 1987 from Groveland, Mass.
Mavis had many interests, including Frank Sinatra music, cake decorating, camping, and gardening; she loved cooking for a crowd and catering for her local community. She was a Girl Scout leader for 11 years; she enjoyed charity work and will be remembered as someone who made a difference.
Mavis will be greatly missed by her daughters, Lyn Courtois of North Port, Diane Kizirian of Northwood, N.H., Janice Taormina of Hudson, N.H. and Melody Campbell of Rochester, N.H.; son, Charles Courtois of Pittsfield, N.H.; brother, Peter Hehl of England; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, and granddaughter, Victoria Grace Taormina.
A celebration of Mavis's life will be held 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at 134 Lucas Pond Road, Northwood, N.H.
