MARY MOFFATT Obituary

MOFFATT, MARY LEE WILSON, ended her earthly journey on July 22 with immediate family at her side. The last two months of Mary's life were aimed at overcoming cancer and dealing with intense pain. A native of Charleston, WV, the parents of Mary Lee & Charles Wilson, the latter predeceased. Mary moved from West Virginia as an infant and lived in the Pensacola & Gulf Breeze areas and then moved to Orlando attending Cherokee Junior & Boone High Schools. Later she graduated from Rollins College with a BA Degree (Psychology) and then completed a Masters Degree (Psychology & Counseling) at Troy State and became a LMHC (licensed mental health counselor). While attending Troy State University she met and married Gary W. Moffatt of Orlando, FL. Mary's career included working in a variety of mental health agencies, the last being at Pasedena Villas (Orlando). She was a valued and loved employee touching the hearts of families, friends and patients throughout central Florida and the country. Her immediate family includes husband Gary, mother Lee Wilson, brothers Arthur (Betty) and Thomas (Vicki), aunt Charlotte, cousin Sarah as well as numerous other family members. So many people remember Mary as a beautiful person both inside and out. We shall miss her. A memorial service will be held at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Luke at 6 PM on Wednesday, July the 25th.

Dear Gary & Family,
I know that tomorrow is the anniversary of Mary's death. I'm still in shock whenever I think about her and learning of her loss last Summer. I will never forget my friend Mary Lee and our (mis)adventures during our short time at UF and thereafter. I still have the many letters she and wrote to one another (before email).
May the love of our Heavenly Father wrap you all in His embrace this week and for all eternity.

Gary, I just found out about your loss quite by accident while looking up some of the old MARS teachers here online. Needless to say, I'm shocked at this news and can only imagine how terrible this loss must be for you. I know you two were the love of each others' lives. I can only hope that you have found comfort in family, friends and happy memories of the times you spent together. I will keep you and the family in my thoughts, and I wish you all well.

Dear Gary, after not hearing from my buddy Mary Moffatt for awhile, I am truly tearful and sadden at the email I recd about Mary's Services from you. I meet your funny wife back in 2005 at FL Hospital and truly met my "sister" instantly. Mary always made me laughed and we cried together alot too. Her light heartness encouraged me in my crazy times. She was a beautiful, honest and selfless person. I will miss not being able to drop over cause I was in the neighborhood or given her a call just to say "Hey girl." Please know she is not alone and is being helped in heaven by my mom. She is pain free and waiting the reunion party with you her family and buddies in heaven. I am truly sorry for you loss and am here for you if you need anything. We had the honor of meeting Mary one time back in 2005. She made such an impression on me...she was so sweet, so beautiful, and you seemed to be a very happy couple.
I want you to know that you remain in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. We know that the days ahead of you will be so difficult as you try to adjust to the changes in your life. Stay focused on the fact that you will see her again. Remember her promise to you and God's promise to all of us.

To Gary, Lee and family-
I am devastated for your loss. Gary- you and Mary lived everyday as if you were on your honeymoon. When a friend of mine saw you both walking around the lake one day, she said "I hope I experience love like this in my lifetime". She didn't even know you but she could see how much in love you were. Lee- the respect and admiration between Mother and Daughter- between you and Mary was very special and something that you do not see often. Both of you always wanting what was best for each other... even at each other's expense.
You could never have enough of Mary. Fortunately for you both, Mary's humor, good nature, love, and spirit lives on. Fortunately for the rest of us, we are all better for having been in the presence of a simply remarkable woman. My thoughts very much with you.

Saw the news about Mary in the newspaper this morning. So sorry to hear of her passing. Mary and I worked together at Apple Annie's at Church St. Station many years ago.
