MATTHEW O'BORN Obituary

O'BORN, MATTHEW BRIAN, 54, of Orlando, FL, has left us to be with the Lord, Aug. 2, 2011. Born in Barberton, OH, Matthew is survived by his wife, Carla O'Born; daughters Kelly Crouse, and Cory O'Born; siblings, Donald O'Born, Michael O'Born, Krystal O'Born Cook, Kat Sharrock, Sean O'Born; and grandchildren Ella and
Hayden. Matthew was, and will always be remembered as, a man who loved the Lord. He would rather talk about Christ than anything else, and often did. He loved his family and friends, and would gladly give everything he had to whoever was in need. He loved sharing travel and fun experiences with everyone, eventually opening his own travel agency. Matthew was a respected member of the Recreational Vehicle (motor homes) industry, and had held the offices of President and Vice-President of the RVDA for the State of FL. But above that, Matthew was a loving, generous, thoughtful and gentle man, who touched the hearts of so many that came in contact with him. He will be greatly missed but the angels are rejoicing! A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at the Marie Williams Chapel, First Baptist Orlando, 3000 S. John Young Pkwy., Orlando, FL, 32805. I am reading G.H. Pembers , The Great Prophecies of the Centuries. It was a very hard book to find but I finally found a used copy on the internet. The book belonged to Matthew as I see his name and number inside the cover. As I read this book and see the pages he had written on I felt led to look him up. It was sad to see of his passing but wonderful to know he loved our lord and as he wrote on page 188 "salvation, ruling with him" witnesses to him doing just that, right now. I just wanted you to know that he is still blessing others through his walk with Christ.

O'Born family,

I am sorry we had lost touch over the years. I was saddened to learn of Matt's passing. I am comforted to know he is with The Lord. I know from my short with him that he was a genuine, loving person. My hope is that our memories of him will continue to remind us of what is important in life. That is his legacy. Rich Laviano

I miss you, Daddy. I wish you could be here to see me graduate next month. You always loved me more than anyone, you were more proud of me than anyone. I miss talking to you, bringing problems to you and knowing you would take care of me. I miss being your little girl, someone I don't get to be with anyone else. I think about you all the time. You gave me so much, such an incredible childhood, such an example of a good father and a good Christian. I hope I can do for my children all the wonderful things you did for me. I can't wait to tell them about you. I know how much you would have loved them, even if they don't exist yet. I promise I'll pick a good man to be their father, someone you would approve of even if you wouldn't always get along with (because of course the two of you would be too alike). You set a pretty high bar for what a man should be- endlessly kind, generous, loving, smart and funny, with a heart so big and full for God that it touches every aspect of your life. You were the very, very best father anyone could ever have. I doubt anyone will ever see me as precious as you did. I miss you so much, even your cheesy jokes and stubbornness about trivial things. I would give anything to hear one of your outrageously polarized opinions right about now. Tell me about a cruise you found, or a story from your youth, or how you fell so helplessly in love with Mommy. Argue with me over what kind of car I should get for my graduation present. Come visit me in Korea when Mommy won't because she doesn't like Asian food. Chastise me about settling down. Hold me in your big arms and call me sweetheart and tell me it's going to be okay. Crack a bad joke to make me smile. I miss you so much. Your baby bird loves you, Daddy.

I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Matt for close to 20 years. He was a good friend and an inspiration to all who got to know him. I know he is with The Lord in heaven today. He is missed.

My dearest brother, it pains me to the depths of my soul that you are gone. Your time here was far too short but God must be in great need of you. I take some comfort in knowing you inspired an abundance of love and admiration in so many other lives. That is the true testament of your generous nature. I thank all of you who have stopped and left such warm words, love and prayers for my brother. He truly was one of a kind. I love you Matthew Brian.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the O'Born family. Matt was a gentle soul. You could tell by his good nature. He always had a smile on his face when he visited us here at Florida Outdoors Rv Center.
He will be missed.

My wife and I have known Matt and his family for many years through our work with the Florida RV Trade Association. We have many fond memories of times spent with our families at many association conventions. We were shocked and saddened to learn of the ending of his courageous fight against the cancer that took his life. Our deepest condolences and prayers go to his wife, Carla, their children and family members during this time of mourning. May God grant you His peace. Jack, Alene and Tahni Carver

We wish we had words to comfort and sustain you in your grief, but I know there are none that will take away any pain you are feeling now. Our hearts ache for you and our arms long to embrace you.
Although words seem futile now in the midst of your sorrow, they are all we have to give you.
Please accept these written words as warm hugs to wrap yourself in, and know that we are holding you in our hearts at this sad and difficult time.
May all the wonderful memories comfort you.

There are many thoughts and prayers coming your way from Ohio.We will all miss Matt's wit and kind and gentle spirit. When my Mom was sick, he sent her flowers and signed the card from "your other Son" He made her smile on that day. So to "my other Brother", I'll see you again one day. Untill then, take care of Mom. Love and prayers, Vickie Rohler Long
