Melissa M. Hardin

1955 - 2021

HARDIN, MELISSA M. Melissa was born on December 27, 1955 and passed away unexpectedly on September 20, 2021. She was born in National City, California and grew up in Orlando, Florida. Melissa retired from the Seminole County School Board in January 2021 and since that time has worked in her family's business. Melissa was a member of the Sanford Optimist Club. She was extensively involved in PTA both while her daughter attended school and after. She held many offices in the PTA including the local, county, and state organizations as well as advisory committees. Melissa is survived by her husband of 45 years, James D. Hardin, her daughter, Heather Putnik, and her grandson, Cameron. She was predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Maureen and Garth Meinke. Melissa is also survived by her sisters Renee Priest and Jolane Brown, and her brother Clay Meinke, as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial celebration of Melissa's life will be held on October 10, 2021, at the Sanford Elk's Club, 1006 E. 2 nd Street, Sanford, FL, from 1 to 3 pm.
