I just found out she has died. She and I have spent many hours talking and texting. She has told me all about her family and often asked me for advice. I just assumed she had gotten into a relationship and stopped talking. My heart is broken at the loss of such a special lady. She will always be in my heart. I can only pray for her family to seek comfort in knowing she's in heaven talking God's ears off now..lol... can't wait to meet her there. She and I actually started a business named after her mother. She will be missed, as well as all the stories of miss Gidget.

I will miss my dear friend Nani... she wasn´t just a friend she was family. The holidays are just not the same without her. I know she is in a better place and dancing with the angels! Her spirt will live on. My prayers and condolences go out to all the family and friends who loved her.

I didn't know Nani well. But one needn't know her well to be engulfed in her joy of life. I met her at an indoor rowing class. She made me feel I'd known her all my life. Almost all of our interactions came from those brief encounters with our little family at the rowing studio. Joking, laughing... she nicknamed me Daddy Long Legs. I nicknamed her Spider Woman. Due to her ridiculously over booked calendar, she would often register for a class and due to some work or social commitment or another, not be able to make it. So I renamed her Nani No Show. That's still her I.D. on my cell phone. In spite of the fact that Nani and I were as opposite in every way as any two humans can be: Politics, Faith, a generation gap, her Type-A extroversion to my socially awkward introversion, etc.. Yet we got along as friends, in no small part due to the fact that Nani's heart was open to everyone. As engaged with and concerned about a casual friend as she might be for family.
Why can't we all be like that. Just open our hearts to everyone and get along as friends?

To Nani’s family and loved ones, words cannot express how deeply sad I am that the world lost such a beautiful soul. Nani and I went to grad school together at Rollins and she and I stayed in touch, occasionally visited each other (the last time being in Orlando back in 2021), and shared all our stories of life, hardship, celebration and professional success. No matter what Nani went through in her personal life, she maintained a happy face and positive demeanor. She was always filled with encouragement and light. I will miss Nani deeply and am sending my deepest condolences from North Carolina.

Nani was a "bestie" to so many of us. She was always checking in on everyone to make sure we were okay. And on the talks, she had beautiful stories to share of family get-togethers with "Ma and Pa," her brothers, and Chris' wife and her two nephews. I always loved seeing her Facebook posts going to parties and fundraisers getting all dressed up. She also always knew about fun things to do together. In the few past years, Nani and I enjoyed a calligraphy class in Winter Park, walks around Lake Baldwin, going to Daytona for a 5K run/walk on the race track, visiting the Tiffany museum, and a goat yoga class in Orlando. I am glad she also got to see Augustine run high school Cross Country in Orlando when we were there. There will be a huge hole without Nani here. She was our big sister looking out for everyone.

She was always laughing and loved to talk about anything. She was thoughtful and projected graciousness to those around her to try to bring joy to others. I am sure her soul is with the Angels and I hope her family finds peace in the months to come.
