Oscar Limonta Obituary

Limonta, Oscar 54, from Oviedo, Fl. joined The Lord on June 5th. Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, Oscar and his wife, who was his childhood sweetheart, came to the USA in 1978 and made Oviedo their home! His free spirit touched many hearts, and prompted smiles and laughter everywhere he went. Everybody who knew him has a story to tell. His love for nature and the preservation of it influenced his profession and the way he raised and provided for his family. Oscar was known as the "cafe con leche" guy by total strangers at a bakery, or the "go to" guy for sound advice or a simple "come let's have a cigar" by those he was closest with! He is survived by his wife, Sohira, his children, Daniel, Gabriel and Andrea, his father Rene, his siblings, Silvia and Arturo, his nieces and nephews, in laws, and many family members. Join us, to celebrate Oscar's life at St. Stephen at 575 Tuscawilla Road, Winter Springs, on Friday June 12th, at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers and in support of the Limonta family in their time of need, donations can be made at The United Legacy Bank, (407)977-4662 for deposit into a donation account set up for this purpose www.unitedlegacybank.com

Oscar was one in a million, we will always remember his smiling face. His life was much too short on this earth, but God must have needed him so much he called him home. He had a beautiful family and we love each and every one of them. Our prayers are always with his lovely wife and wonderful children. May God Bless each of you with his richest blessings.

Harry and I are very sorry to hear of Oscar's passing. What a shock! We knew him as a loving family man and always smiling and always hopeful! Oscar enjoyed our coffee and cigars at the local cigar store for many years. Our thoughts and prayers for the family as they heal from their enormous loss.

My sincere condolences to all of you going through these difficult and painful moments due to the loss of your loved one. Our Heavenly Father makes us a promise full of great console and hope, in 1 Thessalonians 4:14: " For if we have faith that Jesus died and rose again, so too God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in death through Jesus". My dearest Sohira, Gabriel, Daniel, and Andrea, it has saddened me tremendously Oscar's departure. To remember Oscar, is to see his smile, wonderful humor and love of God. We shared many memorable times together for several years, and will always remember the best ceviche made by him. There are simple no words of comfort to help the grieving. It really sucks!!! The pain is as hard as it gets. Nothing will be the same. I speak from my own personal loss. However, time will ease the pain, your children will strengthen you. Stay focus on your faith and count on a support team from friends and family. God will continue to guide you in this process. You'll feel how Oscar's life continues to watch over you, today and always.

Sohira, Daniel, Gabe & Andrea
Y a Tí Oscar, Viejo amigo. Sabemos que el recuerdo de un sentimiento puede durar una vida, y no vamos a olvidarte como Nunca olvidaremos tu Amistad; sólo aprenderemos a vivir con tu recuerdo.

Thoughts and prayers going out to your family. I remember our boys playing together at Osvaldo Ojeda's home where we met your beautiful family. I think both of your lives were cut too short but know that you and Osvaldo are smoking cigars in heaven and drinking Cuban espresso as I write this. May your family find peace in the memories they shared with you.

Sohira, Daniel, Gabe and Andrea. My condolences goes out to the entire Limonta family. Oscar was the first person I met in Oviedo Liittle League (1999) when we moved from Lawrence Kansas. He always asked how my family was doing including my parents who visit during the Winter time. I am going to miss seeing him at Mass on Sunday. Thanks for all the great memories coaching Oviedo Little League with Coach Heller and Coach Bordas. Go Braves ! The Cashman's

Oscar was a great individual and will truly be missed. My heart felt condolences go out to Sohira and the kids. I remember quite a few camping trips with him and the kids in Indian Guides. Although we lost touch with each other over the years, I will always remember his huge heart, forever smile, and his great spirit. Until we meet again my fiend.

When I think of Oscar I remember a famous Native American proverb- when you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life in a manner so that when you die the world cries and you rejoice."

My friends' one thing I want you to remember yesterday is a memory, tomorrow is a mystery but today is a gift which is why they call it a present. Spend your life making a difference, Oscar's made a difference in many lives, he spread the good news of God's love and power with others. He was very active in his faith formation, cultivating his love for his wife and being the best role model to his three children.

Deepest sympathy and condolences go out to the Limonta family. I remember as a team leader for the retreats and a member of this great church community Mr. Limonta always connected with his parish family in ways others could not and took time out of his busy schedule to assist and take part in anyway he could. He will be missed greatly.

Your whole family is in our prayers. Thank you for the extra mile you took for so many people (good and troubled)...you will be dearly missed. Darlene R. Wood (3rd row pew) from St. Stephen Catholic Church.

From the bleachers of Oviedo Little League to the produce dept. at Publix (where we always seemed to bump into each other), Oscar always had a kind word and a smile to share. His family was his life and his legacy lives on through them. Our hearts go out to Sahira and the kids. Wishing you peace as you remember happy times with Oscar and lean on the love of family and friends for support.
