Peter Pesce Obituary

Pete Woodrow Pesce, beloved son of Louis and Jane Pesce, died quietly in his sleep on Sep 26, 2021. A resident of Longwood, FL, he was 61 years old. Pete was born on Aug 16, 1960 in St. Louis, MO and lived his entire life in Longwood with his ever-patient and ever-nurturing parents.

Pete was the light of his family as he was forever young. His daily walks through the neighborhood were the stuff of legend. He greeted each passerby with an enthusiastic "Hey Neighbor". When he wasn't saying hello, he was singing to the music on his discman. Pete taught everyone to love life and value each minute with family. He had a heart big enough to heal us all and we will find solace in this for the rest of our lives.

He is survived by his parents Dr. Louis Pesce and Jane Woodrow Pesce, his sisters and brothers-in-law Susan Blake Pesce Daffey and Michael Daffey, Molly Scott Pesce Ives and Michael Ives, his nieces and nephews Charlotte, Michael, Everett, Schuyler, Wilder, Anderson and Hattie and his eleven cousins.

Rest in Peace our beautiful boy. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to The Special Olympics of Florida www.specialolympicsflorida.org in Pete's memory. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Fri Oct 1, 2021, at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 861 Maitland Ave., Maitland, FL; reception at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Louis Pesce directly after the Funeral Mass. Arrangements under the direction of DeGusipe Funeral Home, Maitland, FL www.degusipe.com

We were blessed to live on the lake and to learn "how to love" as we watched your whole family nurture Pete. He was so lucky to be in your family! My favorite memory was watching Pete walk down the aisle at Molly´s wedding. He was beaming as he was walking "very straight" and focused.
I may have told you that when Chandra was doing her clinicals in dental school, she said, "Mom, they seem to give me the "special needs children". Her classmates remarked how calm she was working "with all the noise". She told them stories of Knowing Pete. Our family was truly blessed and we have so many funny stories because of Pete! He had a great life. We send our love to each of you. We are better people for having known Pete.

Lou - a voice from the past. Good memories. I saw the notice of the loss of your son. I lost a daughter three years ago. Pain beyond measure. But it won't be long before we see them again. Prayers for you and your family.
