RHEA SCARRATT Obituary

SCARRATT, RHEA MARIE, 52, a loving mother, sister, and friend departed this world peacefully to meet Our Lord and Savior on July 19, 2011. Rhea was born on February 16, 1959 in Webster, Massachusetts. Rhea moved with her family from Connecticut to Orlando in 1988. Rhea truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also loved cooking, dancing, going to the beach, and visiting museums. Unfortunately, Rhea was diagnosed with brain cancer
(Glioblastoma Multiforme) in early May 2011. Rhea was predeceased by her parents Bernard and Ida Prout; and brother Robert "Bob" Prout. She is survived by her daughter Amie O'Leary, son Jonathan DiVita, son-in-law Ryan O'Leary, sister's Orise Nezuh and Eileen Corville, and former husband Thomas Scarratt. Rhea leaves behind many great family members and friends. She will be remembered in our hearts forever. We will miss her beautiful smile, witty personality, loving spirit, and amazing cooking. A memorial service to celebrate Rhea's life is scheduled on July 28, 2011 at 2 pm. It will be held at Holy Trinity Reception and Conference Center (1217 Trinity Woods Lane, Maitland FL, 32751). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to: MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486 Houston, TX 77210-4486 www.mdanderson.org/gifts. Please ensure your memorial donation goes towards Brain Cancer Research.

Tom, Amie, & Jon,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Rhea was an amazing woman, and I will never forget her. I will cherish all the memories our families have shared together. When I think of Rhea I can see her smile and I can hear her laugh; she had such a great laugh. I will never forget the times when our families would go camping together in Georgia; we always had such an amazing time and so many laughs. Rhea touched our hearts in so many ways. The Bentley's will never forget her. I pray that Rhea is at peace now. God bless your family.

Love Always,
Julie and Micah

Tom- Carol and I extend our sympathy to you and your family. We know that our Lord can and will give you comfort and peace in this time of loss. As believers in Christ of course we mourn, but we do not mourn as those who have no hope. May the hope which Christ alone can give encourage you and yours.

Amie, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. I can tell you there are few things harder than losing a mother/friend unexpectedly and early. The pain will reduce in time. But because she was your dear friend, there will always be those moments particularly at family celebrations when you will want to run into the kitchen and tell her something or pick up the phone and call her. All I can say is 10 years later those moments have not passed. May God richly bless you and Ryan and give you His comfort.

Tommy, Amie, and Jon,& family, We place great value on the good and encouraging memories we have of our years together with your family. We have missed being able to be with you since your move to FL. We share your sense of loss at this time, and pray you will be able rejoice with Heaven at her arrival there. Rhea's love for each of you was evidenced by the way she only wanted to spend her last days here, knowing that each of you were with her. It was encouraging to see. Thank you Tom for helping us to feel close these last few weeks.
Much love to each of you, Bill and Kathi - Preston, CT.

Rhea never minced words, and I loved talking to her - her honesty was always refreshing as well as funny - such a great outlook on life and even approaching this point, just said it like she saw it. I will look forward to being with her in the next life - so much more to share...

Rhea worked accross the hall from our office on New Broad Street at the Brokerage firm. She and her two children became clients and I helped them file there tax returns for several years. I am so sorry to hear about her untimely death. I know last time I talked to her she loved her new house and enjoyed her time there. My prays go out to her family for peace and thank God for her life that touched so many people. George Fender

Rhea was a beautiful person in every respect. She was devoted to her family and friends and always contributed more than her share. She was fun to work with and her great sense of humor and infectious laugh added a dimension to social occassions.
I am honored to have known and worked with Rhea and will really miss her.

Tommy, Amy & Jonathan....our thoughts and prayers are with you and words cannot express the condolences we offer to you all! Rhea was truly a wonderful person, and her and Tommy created two very beautiful and handsome children, which will be her living legacy.

In the larger spectrum of life we can never truly understand why things happen the way they do; this one thing we do know, Rhea was taken from us too early and she will be missed and never forgotten by us all.

With God's Love

I'm so sorry to hear about Rhea. She and I were very close friends in our late teens and early 20s. We spent many hours playing jacks (believe it or not) and got pretty good at it. She was a fun person and thinking about her will always make me smile.

Our family and myself are deeply saddened by your loss. Rhea was a bright spirit and I will always remember her that way. The last time I saw her was at Sherri's wedding last fall. It was a happy time and memory to be cherished..God bless her and all who loved her..Christine and Steve Nieto
