Robert Musante Obituary

MUSANTE, ROBERT L., of Mayflower Court, Winter Park, died Sunday, September 5th. Bob was born December 24, 1922, in Bridgeport, CT, where he grew up. He was a Navy veteran of WWII (the Big One). He and his wife, Louise, who died in 1991, moved from the Boston area to Winter Park with their four young children in 1958. With his business partner, Frank Canty, he founded and operated Tre-O- Ripe Groves, from which Bob retired in 1989. Bob and Louise's home was always a welcoming place for their friends, their children, and their children's friends. Bob was a passionate golfer and long-time member of Rio Pinar Country Club. He was also a member of the Winter Park Racquet Club for many years. After retirement, he could regularly be found talking sports with his friends at the Langford Hotel's bar and at Fiddler's Green in Winter Park. He was a life-long sports fan, especially of the Boston Red Sox and Notre Dame football. He is survived by son Alan and wife Melinda, both of Winter Park; daughter Linda and husband Lynn Bryan of Tampa; Lynn's children Carter and Lindsey; son Carl and wife Sheila of Orlando; son Jim and Amanda Gardes of Maitland, and Jim's children Joey and Maddy; and by his sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Bob Griffin of Fairfield, CT. Family will receive friends at the Baldwin- Fairchild Ivanhoe Chapel on Wednesday, September 8th from 6-8PM. Services to be held at 10AM on Thursday September 9th at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Winter Park. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you consider a donation to Good Shepherd Catholic School, Bob's favorite charity, in his and Louise's memory.
