Robert Parr Obituary

Parr, Robert Robage 78 of Orlando, Florida went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, September 25, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born on April 7, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his loving wife Flora of 57 years, his children Kim and Lana (Gerson) and his grandchildren Mallory and Matthew. In 1956 he graduated from Chichester High School in Pennsylvania. He went on to attend Pennsylvania Military College and Temple University. He was an active member of the United States National Guard. He retired in 2005 after a 35 year career at Siemens-Westinghouse in Orlando, Florida. He had a strong sense of patriotism and was proud to be an American. He loved his yorkie Wilson, riding his Harley, coaching little league football and helping others. He was a member of the St. Stephen Presbyterian church where he was an elder and was instrumental in expanding the food pantry, helping feed many families in the community. Robert dedicated his life to his family. He instilled strong family values, morals, and most importantly, love. He worked very hard and was a wonderful provider for his family. It is his greatest legacy. He was a wonderful husband and a gentle, compassionate and loving father and grandfather. He was a great son-in-law, brother-in-law, father-in-law, and uncle. He was also a great friend. He touched many lives with his wisdom and generosity. He will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 12:00 PM at St. Stephen Presbyterian Church. 8601 Lake Underhill Road, Orlando, Florida 32825. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the St. Stephen Food Pantry.

Bob Parr was my manager at Westinghouse community/Siemens. My memories of my time working with him he expected us to work hard to do a job but he always told us family comes first always. When my father became ill and my mother was ill I was so upset because I had to stay home and take care of them. When I went to his office to speak to him about this he said you dont worry about it take care your mother and father and when they better come back to work and your job will be here. And he stood by his word he was an amazing honest hard-working and kind man. I speak of them so often and we telling that story so many people. I know hes with the Angels continue to rest in peace Bob your coworker Nancy Defeo

My condolences to the family. Bob Parr was a nice boss. He was very understanding to me and family when my grandchild was going thru brain cancer and he allowed me to change my working hours so I could be with my grandchild in the mornings. May you all find peace with his passing as he was a great man.
