I discovered The Dis Unplugged Podcast in July of 2006, and it has been a weekly fixture in my life ever since. There was a special place in my heart for Bawb, since I too have a boot. I never had the chance to meet him, but if we had, I know I would have had an instant friend.

I just read about Bob's death this morning and though I never met him, I have been sick at heart all day. My deepest condolences go out to Diana and his family, as well as to the DIS unplugged team, and all the DIS listeners for we have all lost a friend. Bob's unlimitless enthusiasm and love for all things Disney were contagious. As a fellow Mass native, I always felt a special kinship with him, never needed a translator, and hoped to find him on my next trip to Disney in September. Bob, I get the "far west end of the parking lot" to view the space shuttle launch and I hope you are up there with Walt himself, learning all the Disney secrets the we are not yet privy to. A million thanks for all the joy you brought us and I hope in heaven Disney World is wide open to you with no crowds or restrictions!

I can only echo what others have said so beautifully. I never met Bob, but it feels like I've lost a friend, I've cried like I lost a friend...and I'm just one among many. He was clearly a very special man. A great man.

My heart goes out to his family friends and colleagues, whose grief I can only begin to feel a fraction of from afar.

Diana & Family;
We were all blessed to have Bawb as part of our weekly lives. The podcast is minus one cast member who, as you know, will be missed deeply. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Bawb but he has made me laugh frequently and always at a time when I needed a good laugh. We here on Earth have lost a special man, but Heaven has gained an angel. My thoughts and prayers are will you all.

I never knew Bawb personally, but to me he was a close friend. I’ve listened to the Dis podcast for over a year, and it just feels like everyone is close to me. I don’t know if I make any sense, to feel so much for a person I never knew before. My husband, family and closest friends don’t understand my sadness. I will truly miss him. My prayers go to the family and close friends.

We are all deeply saddened by his passing and will keep him in our memories forever. We all hoped to meet him in the parks one day and will keep him alive in spirit when we visit. My sincerest condolences to the Varley family and the extended DIS community over this great loss.

I am very sorry to hear about the sudden passing of Bob. Listening to him every week on the Podcast with the gang made it feel like I was back home with my brothers and sisters joking and goofing around. Teasing and laughing at and with each other was a daily happening growing up. It reminded me of the fun, simpler days.
Being from Mass., it was great to hear someone with that dinstinctive Bawston accent. It drives everybody else around the country nuts, except if you are from here. God speed Bob, and bless your family and friends.

I am one of the many people who never met Bob but feel like I've known him for years. My sister and I have both shed many tears to the disbelief of our family members. I can't explain our grief myself except to say that we feel like we've lost someone close to us. To know that someone who made us so happy is now gone continues to make us cry and I can only begin to imagine how you feel. I just wanted to let you know that he meant a great deal to so many, many people and our thoughts and prayers are with you. Thanks for sharing such a great guy with us!

My thoughts and prayers go out to Bob's family. He recently became an integral part of my week through the DIS podcast. Just last week, I thought about all of the cajoling that Kevin gave Bob and I thought to myself: "I think Bob and I would have gotten along just great." because it seemed that he and I thought alot alike.
You will be sorely missed Bob! God Bless You!!

To Diana, Brian,Matt and Erin,

Your loving Bawb was the kind of person who made you want to be a better person yourself. :)

I am very sad I never had the honor of meeting him in person. I will always think of him while on the DIS, when listening to the podcast and while in "The World." His memory will carry on, his spirit will live on in all of you and all that he loved. You will find his memory on the Unplugged board in all of us, I promise!

I sure hope WDW has a big supply of Dole Whips!! Having my first one ever next trip-for Bawb.

I bet he is talking it up with Walt and maybe riding him around on Kart Kahm. He has a lot to tell Walt about, so many things Bawb can fill Walt in about, and I am sure he will too.

Bawb will NEVER be forgotten, I promise. ((((((hugs to you all))))))

Bob had such a wonderful sense of humor and imagination. From Sheriff Wilderness to meeting him and his buddy Harold.Whenever I see Tinkerbell fly I'll think of Bawb! That was a pretty funny story! The image I have in my mind of him in green tights and a tutu makes me LOL right now! You...and Harold... will always be a good memory in Erich and I's life...thank you Bawb for making us laugh. Rest in Peace.

Like most on the DIS boards, I loved "Bawb" without ever having had the privilege of meeting him. I have often heard that our wealth can best be measured by those we touched. By this measure, Bawb was indeed a very rich man. He helped make many people's lives brighter with his humor, his sincerity, and his dedication to others.

After my father passed three years ago, I learned of many things he had done for others without telling any of us. The outpouring of love and appreciation for him was wonderful and more than I expected. His humble service to his fellow man made me decide to emulate his actions that I might leave the world a better place. It's obvious Bawb did. I hope that the outpouring of love on the boards and here is some small comfort to you and your loved ones.

I never met Bawb in person. But I felt of him as a friend through the Podcast. I was so looking forward to meeting him in the parks on my next trip. I was going to be keeping my eyes peeled to find him. I knew I would meet him on the cruise, but I couldn't wait that long. He was a kind and funny man and even though the rest of the podcast crew ragged on him, I knew they all loved him and it made the rest of us love him too. You have my deepest sympathies at the loss of your husband and father and friend.

If the measure of a successful life is impacting others in a profound way, Bob was an over-achiever. His love of life, family, and friends came across loud and clear on the DISUnplugged. I can't put into words how much his goofy antics and kindness toward others has impacted me.

I never had the opportunity to meet Bawb in person, but his personality shone so brightly through his voice on the podcast that it honestly feels that I knew him well.

I only recently began to listen to the show, but even in such a short space of time Bawb brightened up lonely nights for me and caused commuters on trains to give me strange looks as the tears of laughter poured down my cheeks.

I give my deepest condolences to Bob’s family and friends. Though I never met Bob in person, I truly feel as though I’ve lost a dear friend. Twice a week, Bob brought the magic of Disney alive on the DIS Unplugged podcast. Bob’s joy for life, love of family and friends, sense of humor, and kind, caring heart were so evident and have touched my life and the lives of so many others. Bob,

I am all to familiar with this website. I'm sure by now you've met my best friend, Lori. I told her to come introduce herself to you and Walt (because I know you are with him right now).

The unexpected is what can change peoples lives forever. But I know for a fact that you changed peoples lives just by being the loving guy we knew. Corey and Julie loved you so much and would speak of you often in random conversation. I also enjoyed your company when we would see each other - always giving me a laugh! Everyone was looking forward to the live podcast this weekend, but now we can look forward to celebrating you and the life you lived and the better life to come in Heaven. By reading the boards, you have touched lives around the world, Bob. What a life!? You are a person that will never be replaced or forgotten. We will keep your memory alive!

Please comfort your loved ones and let them know you are there. Visit them often in dreams and talk to them. You have already been in one of my dreams!

You will be missed but always know you are loved, Bawb!

Love,
Corey's Sis

Dear Varley Family and Friends.
I never met Bawb personally but yet he brought so much joy and laughter to my husband and I every week. If I may I would like to share a few words.... We looked so forward to listening to Bawb and the rest of the gang every Tuesday and Wednesday. Bob picked my email and voicmails which one was about golfing and invited us on the show to contact him on our upcoming trip down to WDW for a round of "BAWB Golf." My husband and I were so excited it felt like we were going to meet a freind. Which goes to show the kind of man Bawb really was. He was willing to take time out of his busy day to spend it with complete strangers just to make our vacation a little more special. He was such a generous person. He touched so many lives in so many ways. We will forever miss hearing Bawbs Voice every week. Many tears were shed in our home when we heard the news about Bawb's passing. Tears shed for a man we have never had the pleasure of meeting. What a true gift Bawb had to be able to connect with so many people and bring laughter and joy into people's home week after week. It truely was like turning on your IPod and hearing a close friend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you that loved Bawb so dearly. We will miss you Bawb.

He truely made me laugh to a computer screen! He will be missed no question. My best to his family and friends especially the podcast team. I am truely sorry for your great lost.

My husband and I have never met Bob but we listened to him on the DISunplugged podcast every week. He touched our lives in a special way from one person to another who loved all things Disney. His kind and gentle soul will be truely missed.

While I never met "Bawb" in person, I felt like I knew him as I listened to each week's podcast. I'll miss his warmth & humor. His "Kaht Kam" videos are a true treasure for us all. My thoughts and prayers are with the Varley family, the podcast crew, and all of Bob's friends. May your memories bring you comfort and peace.

I am another DisUnplugged fan that never met Bawb, but looked forward to hearing him and his buddies every week while I worked. I am going to miss all the Bawb-isms, "empty" props, and mispronounced words! I send my heartfelt prayers and support to all those who loved Bob and that will have to go on without his wonderful spirit in their daily lives. It is hard for me and I never met him. God Bless

Bawb, we love you. We know that where you are there is nothing but joy and hapiness. Although are hearts are sad, we are uplifted knowing that where you are, there is always Disney magic. Thank you Bawb, for bringing so much joy to so many people.
