Kathy,

I am shocked to hear of Bob's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. Bob and I worked together at the Marriott Resort in Key West during the early 80's. We were good friends but lost contact over the years as we lived afar. As others have proclaimed, Bob was always of good humor, happy, positive and enjoyed life.
I was happy to have surprised Bob by attending your wedding reception.
I last saw you both about five years ago, as we were driving through Orlando.
Impressed by knowledge and learning, Bob told me, as we were discussing where we had met our wives, that he met Kathy at the library. I said 'really?" He then corrected himself and told me that he first met Kathy at a restaurant or bar, but suggested to her that they have their first date at the library, so that he could tell everyone in the future he met his wife at the library!

Bob's spirit will be greatly missed.

Ran into Bob a couple years ago in the College Park Publix...hadn't seen him in probably 6 years because I had moved - but it was "old home week"! We worked together at the Best Western LBV (I was with "the gang" in reservations). Bob helped make it fun! Bob brought a smile to a lot of lives!

So sorry to hear about Bob. He was one of the people from high school whom I remember fondly. He and I swam together at Edgewater, but only kept in contact for a few years after graduation. My parents were friends with both the Whitmires and the Riddles so I got updates for several years after that.

Kathy, I worked with Bob for 12 yrs at the Best Western in LBV. I will always remember Bob as a fun loving person - remember the Bacchus Bash? He always came to me when he couldn't remember the name of a song - ask Kim she will tell ya! Always remember the good times Kathy and know that it's not goodbye but only til we see each other again in the Kingdom of heaven.

Kathy,

I first met Bob when we worked together at the Casa Marina in Key West and we became instant friends. We talked once in a while on the phone and visited a few times when I took my family to Orlando. I will always remember his sense of humor and that big grin on his face. I am so sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you.

Never a time that I remember, seeing Bob without a smile. Never a time that I remember, not having one on my face after he starting the phrase, “Did I ever tell you about the time…?” Bob has always been a keystone of the neighborhood and a large part of what made our time on Boardman so special. Angel and I are comforted by knowing that Kathy will have the support of not only her family, but her neighbors as well…her friends. Without a doubt, he will be missed deeply by all, but for me…I will miss his generosity to open his home, his belief in humanity, and most of all…his ability to always make me smile.

Bob's life was way too short, but a life lived the right way, showing genuine and unabashed caring for family, friends and community. He brought laughter to all who met him with his "unique" brand of humor. The world is a lesser place without him.
