I found out about Steve passing while on a golf course here in Charlotte. Whenever I play there I still think about Steve and the family and remember the fun times both in KC and Orlando.

I want to express my sadness to the Ireland family. My husband Bob & I knew both Steve and Julie at Raytown High School. Bob graduated with Steve in '68, and I graduated in '69. My brother-in-law Steve Hawkins graduated in '70 with Julie. Steve and Julie were friendly and kind to everyone while we were still "kids". We ran into Steve twice over the years when he was in KC. I am bad about not reading the obits on a regular basis, and I found out about Steve's passing from my mother. My mother heard about it from Shirley Mikesell, who is the mother of the former Linda Mikesell who was also good friends with Steve and Julie. Bob and I both also knew Conrad Snow who was a VERY good friend of Steve's during high school. I hope God is healing your hearts. Peace to you all.

I was so shocked when I heard of Steves' passing and even more shocked to hear that Julie preceded him in death. I just wish I had kept in better touch. Ralph I still go by your house when I'm in KC. I would love to see you all again when I get to KC 5th of June 2008. Geez Matt I hadn't talked to you since I had to log you in 1 of the facilities I monitored. Diane (froggy) I hadn't seen you since I was at the Pavillon installing your phones and terminals. I would love to see some pic's of all your familys.
To Teri
My condolences to you and the kids. Steve will be in my heart always and still have fond memories of our scouting and high school experiences. God be with you and keep you all the days, months and years of your life. Conrad W. Snow

I just heard about Steve's passing and I was so surprised. I remember all the times in KC when we worked and played together and then later in Casselberry after we had been transferred. My kids and Margo are back in Kansas City and know of his death. I am in NC and found out through Margo's brother who also worked with Steve back at Southwestern Bell.
Terri, if there is anything I can do please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or 704-806-7706.

Steve and I worked together at AT&T, he was such a nice person and had so much love for his family.
Weeping endureth for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
May God continue to bless your family.

I never met Steve, But I work with his son Scott and he is truly a fantastic and wonderful person. Steve should be very honored to have raised a son who is amazing in everything he does. He will be missed and will be thought about. My prayers are with the entire Ireland Family.

Vickie and I were very surprised and saddened to hear of Steve's passing. We fondly remember all the great dinners we had together every Tuesday night at Fazoli's (nearly 4 year's worth!). We looked forward to the latest movie reviews from Steve and the latest news on the kids and grandchildren. It's funny how such simple gatherings help to bring people closer together.
Of course it's not just our weekly Fazoli "date" where we saw Steve and Terri. We can't count the number of hours Steve spent helping at the church or with others (and not just because of Terri's long commitment to the Trustee's).
We feel a deep loss with his passing but are still deeply honored to have known him as a friend. We regret we can't be there to share stories of his wonderful life. The ripples from Steve's love and caring for others will continue to be felt throughout the TUMC community, his family and friends.
May God bless his family and friends during this difficult time.

I was very surprised and saddened to hear of Steve's passing. He was a dedicated/loving husband, father and friend and will be truly missed. He was a role model for other Christians and was looked up to by many people. I worked with Steve for many years and truly enjoyed every moment. I am sad for his family but happy that God took him to a better place where we will all meet again someday. I pray God will continue to bless the family and ease their pain during this sad time.

I was so shocked to hear that Steve passed away. We were all just together at Happy Hr. in December at Fridays and he looked great. I am so very sorry for your loss. I will miss him. Debbie Smith - AT&T

God must have had need for a really good man when He called Steve home. The Ireland family's closeness was an inspiration to me. My heartfelt sympathy goes to Terri, their children and grandchildren.
