Thomas Picton Warlow III

1943 - 2020

On Thursday, December 17, 2020, Thomas Picton Warlow III, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, died peacefully at his home in Bronson, FL. Tom, age 77, was born on July 19, 1943, in Orlando, Florida, to Mary Carter and Thomas Picton Warlow Jr. He attended Woodberry Forest School in Virginia and Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN where he joined the Beta Pi chapter of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity graduating as a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1966.

As a third-generation Orlando native, Tom was deeply committed to the community and gave selflessly of his time and resources to the causes he was passionate about. As a man of influence, he yielded it discretely while affecting positive change in Orlando in more ways than can be acknowledged. Tom was a man known for many things, most notably his abiding sense of character, integrity, honesty, generosity, and humility. He made friends quickly and everyone loved his sharp wit and talent for telling a great story.

After many years, under the mentorship of Martin Andersen and Frank Hubbard, Tom founded Georgetown Enterprises, Inc., a site civil construction firm servicing Central Florida. Tom was instrumental in developing several notable projects essential to the growth of Central Florida. In 1999, after the passing of his cousin, Gracia Barr Andersen, Tom became Chairman and CEO of The Martin Andersen-Gracia Andersen Foundation, Inc. and was instrumental in setting the vision and continued growth of the foundation. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting, all of which were made more meaningful when shared with family and friends.

Civic affiliations for Tom included serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Camp Boggy Creek, The Country Club of Orlando, The University Club of Orlando, and The Orlando Museum of Art. Tom also served as a Director for Consolidated Tomoka Land Co.

Tom is preceded in death by his father, mother, and his sister, Gail Sessions. He is survived by his wife, Megan, his sister, Cathy Benjamin (Charlie) and his son, Thomas Picton Warlow IV (Carla), two grandchildren, Thomas Picton "Quinn" Warlow V and Griffin Tyre Warlow. Tom is also survived by his previous wife, Nancy Armstrong, and many nephews and nieces.

A celebration of life service will be held for Tom at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke in Orlando, FL on Wednesday, January 20th, followed by a reception at the Country Club of Orlando. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Boggy Creek, 30500 Brantley Branch Road, Eustis, FL 32736 in memory of Thomas Picton Warlow III.
