Wendell Howell Obituary

HOWELL JR., WENDELL K., age 55 of Eustis, was called home to glory on August 7, 2005. A quadriplegic since 1998, Wendell refused to let his paralysis get in the way of living life to the fullest. His positive attitude inspired able bodied folks as well as individuals with disabilities. A talented and competitive athlete in his youth, Wendell's competitive spirit continued after his injury. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, enjoyed NASCAR racing and was an active member and supporter of the "Quad Squad" bowling team. He led a colorful life full of adventure, suspense and romance. Wendell leaves behind his son, Alex Howell, Landrum, SC; father and stepmother, Wendell Sr. and Jean Howell, Tavares and Amery, WI; his sisters, Violet Irminger, Mt. Dora, Laura Boncada, Salt Lake City, UT, Lynn Kent, Gahanna, OH, Carol Hampton, Bradenton, FL; brother, Steven Howell, Amery, WI; as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial will be held to celebrate his life on Saturday, September 10th, 3PM, at The Life Changing Ministries Thrift Store located at Eustis Square Hwy 19 and Ardice in Eustis. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wendell's name to: The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, 1095 NW 14th Terrace (R-48), Miami, FL 33136.

Didn't know Wendell too long, but I did see a lot of pride, in whatever he undertook.
He's in excellent hands now. Praise the lord!
