William Fraasa Obituary

FRAASA, WILLIAM C., was the President of Seminole Loan Corporation in Sanford for 40 years. For many, he was known only as "Mr. Bill". He was always there with a smile and a helping hand. Bill had just completed his 46th year of dedicated service with the Sanford Kiwanis Club; serving as President in 1965 and Lieutenant Governor in 1969. He was a regular participant in the various civic activities that Kiwanis sponsored including Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, in charge of the merchandise mart, Teen Challenge, and The Golden Age Games, any time a volunteer was needed you could count on Bill. In addition to Kiwanis, Bill was also a member of the Norwood/Winton Lodge No. 576, SNAM Master Mason since July 25, 1952. Bill passed away on February 5, 2006. He was 75 years old. Born in Kentucky on February 24, 1931, he grew up in Cincinnati, OH. He moved his family to Ft. Meyers before settling in Sanford in 1960. He was a loving father, grandfather and husband; as well as friend to so very many. He is survived by his sons; Steve Fraasa of Los Angeles, CA, Reed Fraasa of Kinnelon, NJ, and his daughter, Christy Gabler of Gloucester VA and seven grandchildren. Brother, Captain Donald G. Fraasa, Annapolis, MD, cousin Delores Oldendick of Cincinnati, OH and nephew Kip Fraasa of Marietta, GA. Bill was married for the past twenty years to his loving wife, Theresa. He was a wonderful and caring father figure to her two children, Tessie Barrinat of Miami, FL and Charles Barrinat of Altamonte Springs, FL. No service was held for Bill; for Theresa knew he would much rather allow those who knew him to have a private memory and perhaps a kind thought for the man lovingly known as "Mr. Bill".
