Woodson Parkman Daniel III

Woodson "Woody" Parkman Daniel III, age 70, of Orlando, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018. He was born in Atlanta, GA and moved to Orlando at age 3. Growing up in College Park he learned to love the water and spent many days swimming at the Aquaseum, throwing oranges and baseballs and fishing along the banks of Lake Silver with the neighborhood kids. Here he fostered relationships that developed into lifelong friendships. He graduated from Edgewater High School in 1965, attended Presbyterian College and graduated from Rollins College where he was a brother of Sigma Nu.Upon graduation, he remained in Orlando and joined his family's grocery business, Fairway Markets. This grocery eventually became Daniel's Market located on Edgewater Drive. Woody loved his employees and customers, many of whom became like family to him. After leaving the grocery business, he had a decades-long career in the beer industry, working for local distributors and several importers. He retired as a consultant to the burgeoning craft beer industry.His life was filled with a love of family, friends and neighbors, travel, adventure, sports and fishing. When not home with his loving family, he could be found on the water fostering relationships with customers and many local fishing guides. Every trip brought home a story of the people he met and the fish he caught. Anyone who ever sat next to Woody knew he loved to treat his intimate audiences with tales of his escapades. He is survived by his wife, Terrell "Lamb" Hart Daniel, daughters Erin Kunishi (John) and Virginia Garcia (Michael), and son John Daniel; sister Sally White (Gratten) and brothers Bob Daniel and Jeff Daniel; two granddaughters, Maya and Emiko and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.A Toast to Woody will be held on Wednesday, December 26th at 5 pm at the Historic Dubsdread Country Club near where he grew up. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a contribution to a charity of their choice. A private family service will be held.
