COMINS, MI - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Owen Quinn, 71, who died peacefully at his Comins home on January 22, 2026.
Born November 17, 1954, to the late James and Barbara Quinn, David was a lifelong Michigander with deep roots in his community. He was a proud graduate of Caseville High School, Class of 1973.
David dedicated his professional life to public service. He began his career working alongside his brother at the family business, Quinn Shell in Caseville. He then served the community with distinction, retiring after 30 years as the Superintendent of the Caseville Department of Public Works. His commitment to safety and service extended beyond his municipal role, as he also volunteered as a dedicated firefighter for the Caseville Fire Department.
In 2017, David and his beloved wife, Marie, moved from Caseville to Comins, Michigan, to embrace a quieter life surrounded by nature. Together they cherished the peaceful surroundings, often spending time observing wildlife and enjoying trail riding.
David was a devoted family man. He was married for 46 wonderful years to his wife, Marie, who preceded him in death in March 2025. He was a loving father to his son, Luke (Dana), and a proud grandfather to his grandsons, Jackson and Liam, who brought him immense joy.
He is also preceded in death by his brother William.
David will be lovingly remembered by his surviving siblings: Michael, Susan (Thomas) Rudman, Thomas (Bethany), Katherine Beachy, and James (Shari), along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of David's life, which will include a luncheon, is scheduled for January 31, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Comins Fraternal Order of Eagles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
