Timothy McCarthy Obituary

TIMOTHY C. MCCARTHY Timothy C. McCarthy, age 80, of Fairview, MI, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 15th, 2025 at his home, with his loving wife by his side.  Timothy was born at Fort Custer in Battle Creek, Michigan on July 25, 1944, a son of Angela J. (Miller) and Dr. Raymond A. McCarthy, DDS. Tim's family moved to Mt. Clemens, MI where Tim attended school and graduated in 1963. Tim was the captain of the football team. After high school, Tim attended a machinist's trade school. In a previous marriage, Tim was the proud father of a daughter and son. He was a longtime employee of Detroit Broach & Machine. Tim met Peggy, the love of his life, in 1975. The two were joined in marriage on November 11, 1977. Both became born-again Christians in 1978. They resided in Mt. Clemens and Rochester, Michigan until they retired to the Mio /Fairview area in 2008. They enjoyed their retirement and 47+ years of marriage. He is such a jovial man and he will continue to be in Heaven. There is so much more to this love story and it will continue when Peggy joins Tim in Heaven. Thank you to all who cared for Tim before his journey home, and love to all of our friends that we met since moving here: Dale & Cindy Hack, Gar & Colleen Keith, Sue & Nick Kowaleski, Sondra & Wally Oaks, Barb & Mike Butler, Marlene & Nate Weaver, Dave & Marlene Gordon, Garth & Beth Oaks & family, Becky & Joe Arbaugh, Clarice Peters, Ron & Pat Robinson, and Mary Kay & Tom Moular, and so many more. Tim is survived by his wife Margaret (Peggy) M. McCarthy; his children: Kelly Marie McCarthy and Timothy Calihan McCarthy, Jr.; his sisters: Maureen K.(James) QuinnMary A. John and Mary Rae Gutschow; his brother: Dr. Terrance F. McCarthy, DDS, OMS, and wife Sandie; and 2 grandsons. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law: Mecki McCarthy and Joan McCarthy, and many, many nieces and nephews, who love him dearly. Tim was preceded in death by his parents: Dr. Raymond A. and Angela J. McCarthy; his brothers: Patrick M. McCarthy, Gerald D. (Karen) McCarthy, and John McCarthy; and his brothers-in-law: Clifford A. John and James L. Gutschow. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service with interment of ashes will be held at a later date at Kittle Cemetery, Mio, Michigan. These arrangements were handled by Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan.
