Bill was always aware of the lower level State Parks employees. I first met Bill when I was a seasonal ranger at Hartwick Pines State Park and he was the District Park Supervisor. When he came to Pines, he always stopped at the day use office a visited with me. Much later in life when I was on the Region III Parks staff, he was very friendly and encouraged my thoughts. Lastly, at the retirees annual luncheon, Bill would meet us at the door and encourage us to join his table. He will be remembered in State Park circles.
Also - the deer herd of Oscoda County rejoice.
