Cynthia Barbara Jones/McCann, my wife and best friend, passed away on Friday September 12, 2025 and joined her heavenly father.
Cynthia was born April 11, 1942 in Luton, Bedfordshire, England to Hilda and Arthur Jones. She had two brothers, Brian who emigrated to Australia with his family, and David who remained in England. Cynthia and her best girlfriend, Helen Dixon Allen immigrated to the U.S. in 1963, when they were both 21 years oId which took a lot of courage.
Cynthia was proud to become a U.S. citizen in 1982. She was a hair stylist for men, barber, for most of her working career. She loved her work and the tips that came with it. I was one of her customers and she said that I was a poor tipper. She worked at the top salons in the Galleria area in Houston. She told me that she knew the personal home life of many of her customers. Men like to talk.
Cynthia is survived by her husband and several nieces and nephews living in the U.S, England and Australia. A special thanks to Shaunte Roberson for her loving care of Cynthia and me as Cynthia declined. A visitation and memorial services will be at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Houston, Texas on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 2:00 pm

I did not know of Cynthia´s passing until today. She cut my hair for about forty years. She was a great person and I really enjoyed our friendship. It is funny to note that for many years, I had no idea you tipped on haircuts and was horrified to know she had cut my hair with no tips for a long time. I changed all that of course but Cynthia had never complained. I was blessed to know her and wish all the best to friends and family.

Cynthia was like another sister in our family since she and our sister Helen became friends at the age of 15, in Luton , England.
When Helen and Cynthia emigrated to America and later moved to Houston she was part of our lives once again.
So many wonderful memories of Beautiful Cynthia.
Rest in peace dear friend.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
Our condolence to Phillip and her family.
