Roxanne Hazen Obituary

Roxanne "Roxy" Hazen, age 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at daybreak on Thursday, July 4th, 2024. Roxy was born in Oshkosh, WI on March 23rd, 1954 to Kenneth and Janet Metko and was the oldest of 3 siblings. Roxy graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1972. While she lived in Oshkosh the majority of her life, post-graduation she attended the University of Montana for two years and then made the decision to move back to her hometown. In 1975, Roxy began working at Hoffmaster Group and was employed there for over 40 years until her retirement in 2017. Those that worked with her knew her to be a dedicated employee who was resourceful, helpful, and kind.

Roxy certainly enjoyed many of the simple pleasures that life had to offer, which included shopping with her closest cousins and friends, baking, boating, and watching her 2 favorite teams - the Packers and Brewers. While Roxy loved and cherished her time with all of those close to her, there was no doubt her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, Zach and Luke, whom she said kept her young at heart. Roxy would love to go on little adventures with them, which included taking bus rides to the library, visiting zoos and pumpkin farms, and attending sporting events. Roxy also looked forward to having her grandkids over for sleepovers, watching their favorite movies with them, and making them her special "French toast" for breakfast. Roxy's recipe for her grandkids was simple - love, fresh air, and making memories.

Roxy is survived by her husband Daryle Hazen; son Nathan (Jennifer) Hazen; brother Kurt Metko (Linda Hartman); nieces Brooke (Matthew) Zeamer, Kate Thompson (Samantha O'Dell); and grandchildren Zachary and Lucas Hazen. Roxy is further survived by her Aunt Christy and Uncle Jack Koch as well as many other cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Janet Metko; sister Jodee Thompson; and nephew Jacob Beck.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established to support the Christine Ann Center and The Salvation Army. Roxy was a generous soul and found much happiness in helping others. It was especially important to her during the holidays. A private burial will take place at a later date. Our family would also like to thank the staff, nurses, and doctors of Ascension Mercy Hospital for their care and compassion for Roxy these past few years.

"Gone too soon… but always remembered…loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend."

We will miss you!
