Alva Aaron McReynolds

Alva Aaron McReynolds, 87, of Coleman, died Sunday, July 27, 2008, at Tendercare, Inc., in Clare.

He was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Bethany, Ill the son of the late Robert and Chloe (Bruckard) McReynolds. Alva married Doris June Nevins Feb. 5, 1941, in Loomis. He retired from The Dow Chemical Co. in 1979, after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Coleman Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include his wife, Doris of Coleman; children, Barbara and John Geer of Coleman, Shirley and John Thompson of Coleman and Richard and Pam McReynolds of Coleman; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Wilford Siel of Mount Pleasant. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy McReynolds; and sisters, Inez Presley, Ruth Nichols, Mary Brookman, Lois McReynolds and Helen Siel.

Funeral and committal services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at the Coleman Wesleyan Church with pastors Dave Dyer and Shannon Marden officiating. Burial will take place in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call the O'Laughlin Funeral Home today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials are suggested to Coleman Wesleyan Church.
