Anna Zilincik Obituary

Anna Mae (Schaefer) Zilincik, 79, of Sanford, left us at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2006, as a result of her C.O.P.D. lung illness.

She had moved to Holly to live with her daughter, Terry Ann and "Son" Doug. She was at "her" home with them by her side when the Lord took her "home". She was born July 23, 1926, in Midland. She grew up on her parent's (Lula Mae and Emil Alfred) farm in Lee Township. She had four brothers, Gordon, Paul (1999), Alfred (1960), Earl (2005); and two sisters, Helen (1999), and Barbara. Gordon and Barb are the two remaining "spokes of the family wheel". While working at the A&P store in Midland she met and married Emil Edward Zilincik April 9, 1946. They had lived in Sanford their entire married life. She has a son, Jerry Edward and a daughter Terry Ann.

Anna began her career at Sanford Meat Market. She later was employed at Vescio's Supermarket in Midland and finished at the Vescio's in Saginaw. She loved her work and truly liked being around people. She especially liked seeing customers weekly and visiting with them.

She worked and sent her daughter Terry Ann, to Central Michigan Uiversity, where Terry met and married Charles Douglas Smith on June 30, 1973. Her son, Jerry Edward is married and has three sons, and lives in Sanford. Scott (Janar) has five children, Paul, Natalie, Edward, Sara, Austin and live in Troy. Jerome lives in Dearborn. Todd (Christa) have two children, Nicholas and Katie and live in Livonia. Her husband Emil Edward Zilincik (2000) was employed by The Dow Chemical Co. and retired in 1986. Emil passed away in 2000. All her life Anna enjoyed working in the yard and landscaping. She loved interior decorating and rearranging her home decor. She also crocheted afaghans and liked giving them as gifts. She worked with Emil on many projects around their home and was always coming up with creative solutions. She will be loved and missed and will be remembered in our hearts.

Anna and Emil were members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2045 Lynn Rd., Sanford, where her Pastor, Paul Young will officiate the church funeral services Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at 11 a.m., burial will follow in Lee Township Cemetery.

Those wishing to share their remembrances of Anna with the family may visit Tuesday, April 25, 2006, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Freeland Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc.

It is the wish of Anna, Terry and Doug that in lieu of flowers, family and friends may wish to give a token of their remembrance of Anna to her church, St. Paul's Lutheran.
