She is survived by her children, Terri (Robert) Wallace of West Bloomfield, Brent (Debbie) Hockaday of Bath; grandchildren, Megan and Noah Hockaday, Robert Wallace, Nicole Walker; great-grandchildren, Grant and Gregory Symes; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Hockaday; sister, Joanne Urban; and brother, Robert Lalone. Barbara was Sorority House Director for Michigan State University and University of Florida for 15 years.

Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Midland Free Methodist Church, Midland where her memorial service will be held following calling hours at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MM Ewing Continuing Care Center, 350 Parrish Street Canandaigua, NY 14424 or Midland Free Methodist Church, 5821 Eastman Ave., Midland, MI 48640. I was sorry to hear of Barb's passing. She and Dick were great Youth Directors at the Midland FM Church for all of my junior high/high school years. We loved them. They spent hours and hours with us, getting us to church rallies and other youth group events. They also spent time at camp meeting and conference with some of the youth. They were always patient, kind and had a smile on their face. We were sorry to see them move to New York but kept in touch as we could. Dick's passing was way too soon but I'm sure he is happy to have Barb at his side again. God has received an angel.
