His creative, outgoing, and fun-loving spirit carried him through life with an exceptionally warm heart. He was always there to help build the esteem of others and was considered a friend by those who knew him. Chad enjoyed an active life and made an everlasting impression on everyone he met.

Chad is survived by his parents, Dave and Sue; sister, Kimmy (Mark) Kosberg of Midland; brother, Brad (Lindsay) Dunn of Nashville, Tenn.; nephew, Brady Kosberg; and nieces, Scarlett and Chandler Dunn.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, with The Rev. Dr. Charles Keyworth and Dr. J D Landis officiating. The family will receive friends at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, on Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, from 4-7 p.m., and on Saturday at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.

Dave and Sue,

We never had the previledge of meeting your son Chad but from what I have heard of him and learned by reading the comments posted in this guest book, he was quite a guy. He obviously had lots of friends and made quite an impact on untold numbers of people. He was loved and will not be forgotten. Our prayer for you is that God will provide peace and comfort that He alone can give. We are deeply sorry for your loss and continue to pray for you and your family.

Chad was a friend and we had nothing but good times together. He was an awesome person with amazing energy. I will miss him tremendously.

I want to commend and thank the family for having the courage and strength to prioritize the discussion of mental illness as a disease and the dedication to its treatment. Your family will be in my thoughts always.

Sue and Dave

I am so sorry to hear about Chad. I want to extend my sympathy to both of you and your family. I wish I could say something other than I'm sorry but only time will help with the pain. I remember him from Siebert with many fond memories. It's funny that in life our sorrow and joy come from the same source which makes the pain at moments like this so great ,only because of all the joy he brought. If there's any thing I can do all you have to do is call. Again I'm so sorry. I will remember him as the little boy I knew at Siebert.

I had the privilege of growing up with Chad in Midland and will never forget all the good times we had.

It was amazing to see him blossom into such a kind, fun-loving, and down-to-earth man, who always did his best to see the good in someone, regardless of his shortcomings.

I'll forever remember the heart-to-heart conversations we had on the rooftops in San Diego, LA, Chicago, NYC, and any other random place we happened to be at together. Janie and I will miss you, Dunner.

Although this tragedy leaves a gaping hole in our hearts, we are comforted in the fact that you are no longer in pain. To the the Dunn family - our thoughts, prayers, and hearts are with you in this incredibly difficult time.

Much love, Dunner. Until we meet again.
