Cheryl Daunheimer Obituary

Mrs. Cheryl Arlotte Daunheimer, 62, of Rockford and formerly of Midland, went home to her Lord and Savior Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, after a long illness with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Aurora, Ill. to Luvern and Georgene (Nelson) Anderson. In 1973 she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Scott Daunheimer.

Cheryl was a school teacher. She was also an excellent seamstress and made handmade clothing for herself and her children. She also had an incredible eye for interior decoration and design, bringing together colors and décor to match the seasons. Cheryl loved her collectibles, which brought her great joy, such as Dickens' Village and Snow Village collections, and collectable dishes.

Cheryl enjoyed many things, however, her family was most important and the center of her life; her love for them was immeasurable.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of forty-one years, Scott; children, Allison (Brian) Fentzke, Stephen Daunheimer, Gretchen (David) Schmidt; grandchildren, Kirsten Fentzke, Sydney Fentzke, Elijah Fentzke, Wesley Schmidt; mother, Georgene Anderson; and brother, Bruce Anderson.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Luvern; and granddaughter, Violet.

The funeral service for Cheryl will be 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at the Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe Street NE, Rockford, Mich., 49341. There will be a time of visitation with the family one hour prior to the funeral service. Those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to the Alzheimer's Association, 2944 Fuller Avenue NE, Suite 101, Grand Rapids, Mich., 49505. www.pedersonfuneralhome.com.

So sorry for your loss. I treasure the time spent with Cheryl -building & painting sets, searching for items to round out the look of a production, and feeding countless teenagers. Cheryl was my definition of a Lady. Thinking and praying for you all.
