Christopher Owens Obituary

Christopher Owens
Christopher John Owens, son of John Owens and Jane Owens, passed away peacefully with his mom by his side on May 19, 2025. He was born on October 30, 1974.
Chris will be remembered for his kind heart and strong work ethic. At eight years old, he worked with his grandpa, driving tractors and putting in crops. Working along with his grandpa, cousins and friends, he developed construction and mechanical skills where he built hunting blinds, helped build the family cabin, and tore apart old tractors and cars. Chris transitioned to the trade of plumbing after high school and was highly successful at the craft until he was no longer able to work.
Chris enjoyed hunting deer and planting crops for the deer. He liked working on cars with his friends and loved listening to music. As a child he was active in 4-H and always helped Grandma Bartos with the garden. As an adult, Chris loved taking his trailer on camping trips throughout Michigan and being one with nature.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Paul and Alice (Berlin) Owens and his uncle, Greg Bartos. He is survived by his grandparents, Lawrence and Patricia (Fales) Bartos; devoted caretaker and mother, Jane, and his father John, both of Midland; sister, Kelly (Bryan) Keene; brother, Robert (Katty) Owens; nephews and niece, Nicholas Keene, Zachary Keene, Caleb Owens, and Zoey Owens, all of Midland; aunts and uncles, Brigette (Matt) Davison, Jan (Tom) Neuenfeldt, Jim Owens, Joe (Nancy) Owens, Jerry (Reba) Owens; Pat Owens; Kathy (Dave) Graebner; Jane (Jim) Avery, Diane Owens (Phil), and many cousins, too numerous to count.
"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us." Romans 8:18.
Chris was involved in an accident 23 years ago, which altered his life forever. He courageously embraced the pain and sufferings he bared here on earth, remained optimistic and strengthened his belief in God. He fought valiantly until he went to be with the Lord. We are confident he is safe and secure in Heaven, pain free, and listening to music with Greggy. We will miss you "Duff!"
A private family service will be held on a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the MS Society or a charity of their choice.
