Daniel Roy Hiller, 48 of Midland, died unexpectedly January 17, 2022, at his home. He was born January 16, 1974, in Midland, son of Terrance A. and Cecil Lynn (Cook) Hiller, Sr. Dan was a graduate of H.H. Dow High School class of 1992, then attended and graduated from Texas A & M with a degree in business. While there, he was a member of the Corps Of Cadets, completed his officers training and enlisted in the U.S. Navy as an officer. Dan flew reconnaissance missions during the Gulf War, Afghanistan, as well as Somalia where he earned the rank of Lieutenant. He loved his country and proudly served to defend our freedoms.
He is survived by his parents Terry and Lynn Hiller, Sr., sister Aleta Hiller (Aaron) Stiner, brother Terry Hiller, Jr., all of Midland; nieces Amanda Niemiec of Traverse City, Abigail Niemiec of Midland, and nephew Owen Hiller of East Lansing. Daniel was preceded in death by a brother Patrick Hiller and a niece Lindsay Hiller.
Funeral services for Daniel will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street with Father Daniel J. Fox OFM Cap. as celebrant. Interment will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
