That squadron (the Rangers) was the best unit I ever had the pleasure of serving in, and Dan was a fine, contributing member to that Wardroom. An excellent pilot and an even better friend. I served with Dan flying T-34s in Corpus Christi. He was an excellent pilot and an exceptional, exemplary gentleman. This news is terribly difficult to hear. I'm better for having known you Dan- thanks for keeping us safe when we flew together. Joe Whalen
