David Lynn Michalak

David Lynn Michalak, 62, of Coleman, crossed over to the other side at his home on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013. He was born on Oct. 8, 1950, to Walter and Naomi (Piegols) Michalak in Midland, who preceded him in death. He moved to Hope as a child of 10 and graduated from Meridian Senior High School in 1969.

David received an A.A.S. degree in electrical technology from Delta College in 1972. He worked as an electrician for Davis Electric, and as a journeyman stitcher-trimmer operator at McKay Press in Midland and Tigner Printing in Coleman. He married the former Deborah Farison on Aug. 12, 1978.

David is survived by his wife and their son, Douglas David Michalak, 33, of Coleman. He is also survived by his brothers and their wives, Jack (Kay) Michalak of Hope, Kenneth (Linda) Michalak Sr. also of Hope; and sister in-law, Nancy S. Farison of Freeland. He will also have many nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be held at the Beaverton Church of the Nazarene, Beaverton, on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at 11 a.m., by The Rev. Martin Hodge. The family will receive friends at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and also on Saturday, at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. He will be laid to rest with a private burial at the New Hope Township Cemetery, Hope.
