Eric Anders Obituary

Eric Anders
Eric Hanns Anders, 72, of Sanford, died on January 1, 2025. He was born on March 28, 1952, in Washington, D.C.; eldest of six children of Winfred and Marilyn (Wiegand) Anders.
Eric is survived by his wife of 43 years, Connie, and his two sons, Chad (Marissa) and Sean. Eric is also survived by his siblings, Kurt (Carolyn) Anders, Mark Anders (Jackie Reynecke), Lisa (Ron) Swaim, Beth (Rick) Zarfoss, and John Anders, and his brother-in-law Jay Lockhart.
There are a lot of words that someone would use to describe Eric Anders. Some would be stubborn and opinionated. Others might choose passionate and bold. He was never afraid to say what was on his mind, for good or for bad. Those that knew Eric best knew that, above all, he was full of love. He loved his family and those around him completely and unconditionally. Most of all, his wife who he still lovingly called, his "Pretty Girl". Eric loved his sons with his whole heart and took care of them diligently throughout his entire life. But above all, Eric's biggest joys in life were his grandkids, Ayla and Vincent. He would write them letters and read them bedtime stories at each visit. He absolutely lit up whenever he could hug and love on his family; they were the light of his life.
Eric was always concerned with the well-being of those around him and would be available to give everything he had. He was a person that would give you the shirt off his back if he knew he could help. One cannot describe Eric without a bit of stubbornness, which he proudly proclaimed had come with his DNA. He put his stubbornness to use in fighting for just causes and the rights of others in the community and in politics. Eric was passionate about fighting for those that needed a voice. He would write letters and work diligently to create change that he knew needed to happen in our world today. During his sons' childhoods, he was a proud and active member and group leader for the Cub and Boy Scouts of America, Junior Achievement, and D.A.R.E. programs.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St., Midland, MI. Family will receive guests on Friday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Saturday from 1:00 PM until the start of the service at the funeral home.
