Herbert A. Eschenbacher
Midland, Michigan
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family June 11, 2023. Born April 15, 1929 in Bay City, MI to Minnie (Nitchke) and Karl Eschenbacher. Herbert grew up in Rhodes, MI, with his 7 brothers and 4 sisters. This is where he met the love of his life Geraldine L. Delano. They married July 3, 1954. Herb served in the US Army from 1950 -1952 during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Dow Chemical in Midland from 1952-1985 in the Methocel and Power House departments. Herbert and Geraldine have 2 children, Melanie Mathewson (Jay) and Darwin (Cathy). They have 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. No memorial is planned, cremation has taken place. Those wishing to celebrate Herb's life should do good deeds for others as Herb so unselfishly did.
Per Herb's request, cremation has already taken place. Arrangements by the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. 310 E. Washington St. Freeland, MI 48623-0362.

Herb sat across the table talking about deer hunting with my stepdad. I was about fourteen at the time.

I have so many memories of Heb and the rest of the family. From hunting to working in Dow to his wife being my school teacher to his daughter being my flower girl in my wedding. Love you all. Herby will be deeply missed.

Very sorry to hear of Herb's passing. My Grandfather was Earl Clarey. They were very good friends. Herb was a great man and was always willing to fix our lawnmowers and lend a hand at anytime. He will be greatly missed. Much love and prayers from the Clarey Family. -Matt Clarey
