Jack Moomey Obituary

Jack Martin Moomey, 47, of Midland, died Sunday morning, April 13, 2008, at his home following an illness.

He was born March 10, 1961, in Terrell, Texas, the son of Arnold Ted and Shirley (Kirbitz) Moomey. Jack had served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was a member of the Sanford American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and living life to the fullest.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Shannon Moomey; son, Chatham Moomey; mother, Shirley Moomey; brother and sister-in-law, Everette and Diane Moomey; sister, Annette Moomey; niece, Amber Corter; nephews, Arney, Bill Chevalier, Everett Moomey II, Adam Corter, and David Vick; several uncles, aunts, cousins; and his best friend from childhood, Tim Genson. He was predeceased by his father, Arnold Ted Moomey; and his brother Arnold T. Moomey Jr.

Memorial services for Jack will take place at 4 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 W. Wheeler St., Chaplain Bill Schaard officiating. Full military honors will be presented under the auspices of the Midland Area Veterans.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday one hour prior to services. Memorials may be offered to the family in memory of Jack. If you are unable to visit with the family in person, you may share your condolences online through www.waresmithwoolever.com.

Shirley sorry to hear about your loss. Our kids all played together when they were young. Jack was a good person. having lost Kim 9 yrs. ago and Brenda in July we know your feelings. Our children are now angels and not suffering any longer. My prayers are with you and your family.
