James Gorzinski Obituary

Our beloved James P. "Jim" Gorzinski, 46, of Sanford, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 23, 2016. He was born the son of Stanley J. and Judith J. (Sczepanski) Gorzinski on Nov. 29, 1969 in Bay City, and had resided in the Bay/Midland area all his life. Jim truly was a selfless, kind, caring person that consistently put the needs of others before himself.

He was currently working as a Senior Vice President for the Wirt-Rivette Group in Saginaw. He had deep passion for hunting, fishing, antiquing, watching sports and spending time with family and friends.

On Feb. 24, 1989 he married the former Julie F. Priest, and she survives him. Also surviving are one brother, Kevin (Sue) Gorzinski, Auburn; two sisters, Deanna (Ron) Pope, Auburn and Lisa (Eric) Dunham, Ann Arbor; one step-son, Trevor (Dawn) Bowland; three grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor and Garrett Bowland; three beloved dogs and one beloved cat; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jacob and Genevieve "Jenny" Gorzinski and Edward and Elizabeth Sczepanski.

Our lives are forever changed by this sudden loss. He will remain in our hearts and always be remembered in our thoughts and prayers.

Jim's family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. on Tuesday, March 29, from 2-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. The funeral liturgy and rite of committal will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Prince of Peace Parish (St. Valentine Campus- Parish and 9 Mile roads). The Rev. Fr. T.J. Fleming and Deacon Michael E. Arnold will officiate. On Wednesday, Jim will lie in state at the CHURCH from 10 a.m. until time of mass.

Those planning an expression of sympathy, envelopes for the Midland County Humane Society will be available at the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes.
