Debra, I am so sorry to learn about John's passing. I will always fondly remember the way he would perk up and share his enthusiasm for flying on our trips to/from Waukegan - even when he wanted to take the bumpy ride along the lakeshore! And, thank you for your lovely note about the special encouragement and hopes that he would one day fly again - it was truly my honor to provide that gift to him. May God bless and comfort you and your family.

Debra, we are sorry to hear of your loss. We crossed paths with you and John only infrequently during our years in Midland (in the company of Carol and Mark), but always enjoyed the lively, intelligent conviviality of you both. We send our heartfelt condolences.

John and I met when we were about 5 years old and quickly became good friends. We shared many a lively adventure together during our youth and John was always full of ideas and energy. I count myself fortunate to have so many good memories of John, as well as the rest of his family, who were always welcoming and delightful to be around. I know all who miss him will find solace in the knowledge they were able to share their lives with such a unique and wonderful person.

Dear Debra and family,
My heart goes out to each one of you. John's life was certainly cut too short. Although it sounds as though he definitely lived life to the fullest. I am honored to have known him. Debra, please reach out, as you need to, my heart truly grieves for you during this difficult time. John was a special person, anyone that met him, knew that immediately. May God's grace continue to fill your heart and comfort you, your children and all your many loved ones through this time. Blessings to you, Janene Ellis-Sutter, Schaeffer Mfg.

I am sorry to see this. I got to know John (and Deb) way back in the 1980s when I first became a Christian. To me, John was a good role model. He was firm in his faith, and intellectually curious. He was smart and caring, and principled in his beliefs. My condolences go out to Deb and their entire family and friends. John's suffering is over. He's walking on streets of gold. We'll see him again. Blessings, Chris Stevens
