Jon Conklin Obituary

Jon Dennis Conklin
Redmond - Jon Dennis Conklin, MD died at home in Redmond, Washington, on October 10, 2022. Jon is survived and missed terribly by his wife and partner of over 31 years, Sheilagh (Laughney), his 6 children Laurie (Henry), Leslie (Piero), Mara (Kevin), Morgan (Ethan), Riley and Jack, and 5 grandchildren Sofia, Zachary, Lily, Elijah and Olivia. His memory will live on with his many nieces and nephews. Jon is survived by his brother, Christopher. Siblings Mary and William precede him in death. Jon was born on April 4, 1941, in Midland, Michigan to Jack and Bernice Conklin. Jon played and loved all types of sports, but he excelled at football, helping his high school win the state championship. He was able to attend the University of Michigan on a football scholarship. His academic excellence won him admissions to the UM Medical School prior to finishing his undergraduate degree. He would later write his name as Jon D. Conklin, MD, no BS. Jon was extraordinarily proud to be a Wolverine and wore his maze and blue whenever he could. Jon loved being a physician and served the healthcare community and patients of the greater Seattle area for many decades. He also loved animals, music, art, photography, and gardening. Above all else, he adored his wife, children and grandkids. His kind, gentle, calm demeanor will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

This saddens my heart in so many ways. I loved him and had a connection to him. I always felt special in his presence, and will miss him forever. Give Mom a hug from me Uncle Jon. Love you!
